If the C's don't flip the switch this Saturday, it's gonna be a looong series.

So you think even if the Celtics continue to play poorly we'll still take the Knicks to 6 or 7 games? I like your optimism. ;)

if we continue playing poorly which i have seen no evidence to the contrary it will be knicks in 5!

Actually I'm gonna be realistic! My mind tells me the Knicks are going to take this series in 6. But my heart tells me Boston is going to wrap this series up in 6. Usually go with whatever my mind tells me, because it's my mind.

That should do  ;)

Like we did last year ... and the year before, and the year before ... these guys have been over-achieving in the playoffs for years, and just plain play at a higher level during the post-season, and I love them for that. Whatever happens, no matter how far they get, they will be working their butts off ... and making us proud. I'll never forget the crowd chanting last year, long after they'd left the floor after a blowout, simply because they gave their all, and always will.

It's great for arguments with fans of other cities, but the Celtics haven't truthfully made me very happy in the playoffs for the past few years. Every season we have high expectations, those expectations fade because of poor regular seasons, the team wins a few series, puts themselves in a position to actually get to the Finals (or win the championhip), then they choke away they're chance.  I'm sure this team will play well in these Playoffs and it'll lead us into being hopeful for 2013-14...

2008- Championship (my happiest moment as a Celtics fan, cried like a baby along with PP)

2009- Lost in Semifinals. Sure KG was hurt, but you can't tell me that The Celtics couldn't beat Orlando at HOME in Game 7? They go blown out... History quickly rewrote itself into the fact that they had no chance against the without KG, but we know they had a serious chance and blew it.

2010- Lost in game 7 of NBA Finals... sure it was on the road, sure Perk was hurt... but the team blew a 4th quarter lead to blow the title. History has made excuses for KG's 3 total rebounds.

2011- Got legitimately embarrassed by Miami. Sure Rondo go hurt but they were already down 2-0 before he got hurt. Great Game 3, but they got squashed.

2012- Sure The Celtics chances were greatly improved with the Rose injury. On the other side, sure the Miami Heat were clearly the better team BUT in Game 6 at HOME with a chance to close out the series you can't lose by 19

The Celtics are better than they've played since 2007... I'll honestly look at this era in Celtics basketball as an era of missed opportunities. We say "The Celtics are better than all these teams." then ESPN says, "All those teams are better than the Celtics," then The C's beat a few teams in The Playoffs and we pump our chests, then when we lose to a team that we claimed we were better than... we point back to ESPN and claim how we overachieved...

Boston should have been in the ECF in 2009, they should have won in 2010, and they should have at least gave themselves a fighting chance in Game 6 against The Heat... you can't lose like that in a clinching game at HOME... if you remember correctly they did the same thing in '09 against Orlando. You can't get blown out of the last game you play.

I'm not hating, I just know what this team has been capable of. These guys are a GREAT group of players and could have been better.

And it's not even todays loss. I didn't even watch and it's obvious Doc didn't take the game seriously.

But I'm just not excited. Right now.

anyone with me?

That's cool. I'm enthralled

This year Cs have probably the worst roster in last 6 seasons...So, not a felling to be optimistic too much

I agree with alot of this but I really agree with this. How the celtics lost by that much in a close out game at home is beyond me. Sure lebron went off but that's not a good  enough excuse. When rondo went off against miami we lost. When green went off against miami we lost.

There's absolutely no excuse to get blown out in a clinching game AT HOME. Its almost like they didn't take it seriously because they knew they had another game after if they lost. I don't wanna believe that's the case but man, what the hell was that.

In 2009, we would have beaten Orlando and made it to Eastern Conference Finals and fall to LeBron James' Cavs without Kevin Garnett and Leon Powe.

This postseason, there is still no Rose but now there are both New York teams in our way and a very dangerous big team in Indiana Pacers. Chicago is still pretty threatening to the C's, at least to me, even without Rose.

The only teams in the playoffs we could easily beat are probably Atlanta and Milwaukee.

I'd be very happy if we fell to the Bulls provided that the Lakers don't make it either.

I am getting pretty pumped too.

I am not sure how I feel about our chances, but at the end of the day, that's irrelavant.

It's the rush of being a Celtics fan that takes over come playoff time!!
