Do you remember when Doc used to say KG needed to take 20 shots for us to win?

Green needs to take at least 15 shots per game for us to win and advance...maybe even 20...first of all...it will take a lot of pressure of the Capt and KG to score...Doc needs to call plays for Green early and keep dialing up his number ...even when he is cold...Green is probably our best and most explosive scorer...with all due respect to the Capt...i love this keep the ball moving philosophy...but...when Green gets at least 15 shots per game...he will score at least 20 points...just like any scorer...and...it will make it easier for everyone...if Doc does not see this...I don't think we'll make it past NY...

I probably agree that Green needs to be fed the ball early and often. Not because he's are best scorer, though.  More to do with his seeming penchant to become totally useless if he doesn't have a good start.

Pierce and KG don't really have this problem.  They can get it going at any moment.  Let Green get his rhythm, and then get KG/Pierce going.

Games this season where Jeff Green has put up 15 or more FGAs:

FGM/FGA - Opponent (W/L)
5/16 - Dallas (W)
5/17 - Sacramento (L)
14/21 - Miami (L)
7/18 - Cleveland (W)
11/20 - Atlanta (W)
13/19 - Detroit (W)
4/17 - Brooklyn (L)
10/17 - Miami (L)
6/17 - Orlando (W)

5-4, and five of these teams are losers (4-1).
Doesn't seem to be working very well against real teams, though the sample size is way too small.

interesting points on green. the problem seems to be that he becomes too passive. when he shines is when he becomes aggressive and attacks the basket.

once he starts out passive that seems to set the tone for the game.

his problem is mental, not physical ability.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Thanks for the stats, but do you really think you should count the Miami games? [especially] In that 2nd game, the Celtics would have been toast without him. I think what it shows, though, is that his efficiency doesn't always continue when he takes more shots.

But, you do acknowledge the small sample size. Basically, I think Green should probably get a couple of more shots, but they should come in the flow of the game and he should continue to take it to the hoop because of his excellent ft%.
