Rondo - Bradley - Green - Sullinger - ________

Could be a nice Playoff team and could easily contend for the 7th spot in the Eastern Conference. Could be better if they got a big man with size and shot blocking ability.

I don't think Danny Ainge see's Fab Melo as the future starting center for Boston but he just may be a quality big who can come off the bench.

In this draft the Celtics will most likely end up with the 16th overall pick ( the highest selection for BOS since Jeff Green in 07). Due to the extinction of the franchise center you won't find any in this draft BUT there are a few guys that can at least be a younger/bigger Shavlik Randolph.

Steven Adams- Pitt- 7'0"- 250 lbs
Freshman
7pts, 6reb, 2blk, 57% FG (nice) , 44% FT (yuck)

Jeff Withey- Kansas- 7'0"- 235
Senior
13pts, 8.5reb, 3.9blk, 58% FT (NICE), 71% FT (much better)

Mitch McGary- Michigan- 6'10"- 260
Freshman
7pts, 6reb, .7blk (not good), 59% FG, 44% FT (Eww)

Then again Al Jefferson would also fill that empty spot.

You mean the "trade assets" era?

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Give me Steven Adams.

Love Whithey's defense, but I think Adams can develop into a very solid interior defender in the future.

Love Mitch McGary's motor, and I wish we can have him, but I'll be realistic here and just not even worry. He's a top 10 pick if he comes out.

I think we may have to get the final big man piece after KG and PP and Jet come off the books.  Most of these bigs are very raw.  When does the unibrow hit free agency?  He would be my target.  Dwight Howard for all his detractors would also be a great get for the Celtics.

The Rondo-Bradley-Green-Sully era is looking QUITE nice, especially with Jeff Green's play of late.

Optimistic about the future AND the present - once the playoffs start.

unibrow is the 2nd coming of KG. we absolutely need him to want to leave his situation forcing a trade.

Could he be our Tiago Splitter?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I love the kid but we ultimately may look to move Avery Bradley at some point. We probably need a bigger scoring threat at the 2 guard spot. Either that or we move Rondo for a scoring big like Cousins.
I'd actually like us to keep Rondo and move Bradley+Green for Cousins.

Make it the Rondo, Cousins, Sully era.
Put a nice free agent small forward and and shooting guard next to those guys.

Potential powerhouse.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I agree with you to a point. The Cs do need a bigger scoring SG. I actually think that is more a priority for the future than center. However I dont think that means the end of AB in boston. I think danny needs to find a young scoring 2/3 to either become the future 6th man or over take AB making Avery the 6th man. A prime example from the up comming draft would be Shabazz Muhammad. Then against most teams the Cs finish out games Rondo, AB, (shabazz), Green, and Sully.

If Danny can find that harden/ginobli like 2/3 scoring 6th man and Sully develops into a 15pt 11rb guy than I think the Cs get by with a platoon system at center.

I think Courtney Lee was supposed to be that guy and we were so happy that we got him on a [somewhat] team-friendly contract. Unfortunately, with all of the talk of Terry's disappointing season, I would have to say the Lee has played even worse - yeah yeah, I get it, he has done an admirable job on defense, but offensively he never came close to finding his groove.

Got to start somewhere, when PP and KG walk away.

I'm sure there will be huge personnel changes over the next several years.

I These four are likey to be the starters for a while.

Like to see DMC added to this lineup. (cheap)

Lee is a career 9.5 pt per game guy, his best season he averaged 12.5pt per game. He is never going to be a guy who carries an offence. For the future im talking about find a guy who can get 15-20 pts per game.

Rondo  15pts game
AB     10pts game starter or 6th
Green  16pts game
Sully  15pts game
Center 10pts by committee
2/3 G  16pts start or 6th man
