Will Celtics Team Break Down If Bass Is Traded? Or We Are Ok W/ Sully And White?

Just out of curiosity what are you expecting to trade Bass for? We have no need for a pg/sg/sf. It only makes sense to trade him (and probably a sg) for a better big.

Bass+Melo+1st = Mozgov.  Big who can protect rim, collect blocks and force rebounds.

Never really saw the acquisition of White as being a move to replace Bass. Interesting thought considering how similar they are.

Bass has been a bit of an albatross this season.

Don't know if Bass would fetch much, though. Forcing a trade is likely just going to water down talent.

Regardless, Bass's recent play is very promising and I wouldn't mind keeping him as long as we have Sully in front.

I just hope Bass, Terry, Lee or some combo could land us an upgrade big in the offseason.  Maybe something will materialize there.

But whoever it is, is probably the back up to KG/Sullinger, who should start.

Boston lacks a starting big outside of KG.  Nobody else on their roster is a starting-level talent at the PF position.

Trading Bass won't make that situation any better.

Sullinger's a starting-level talent if he plays as well as he did in January next season.

Exactly, I would start Sullinger, and trade Bass and Melo for a decent center. I'd go for Dalembert.

8 PPG and 5.2 RPG is not hard to replace.   Bass is a good bench PF but a mediocre starter as I see it.

me either.  I would like to think Danny could do better than a 3rd string, unproven centers for Bass/Melo/1st.  That 1st rounder this year alone could possibly net someone as good as Mozgov since it'll be just outside the lottery

Bass is a bench player who Doc uses as a starter. The team would be better off if he is traded.

How many teams play 5 legit starters?

I look for good things from Sully by FEB/MARCH next year, I think like D12 .....it takes a while to get over back surgery.  But , he'll be worth the wait.

this is sorta what I want to happen too....like FAB ....but may not be able to wait out his development  , unless he suddenly surges like AB did.

Udonis and his 3.7 ppg thank you for your support.

Not to pick on him, but anyone else think they'd trade him for a healthy Sully as quickly as possible?

that is too much.. mozgov is only 3.1 million RFA, if they want to add randolph, i think problem solve 2 big bodies, i know anthony randolph given minutes he is good, then shavlik can stay too, even white since sully just came from back surgery, that is the best we can get, i think those player like gortat jefferson varejao can happen but... lee or bradley might be included... so its a no for me... i like crawford though, younger version of barbosa, if we could get those 2 3pg's and 3sg's change melo to SG, change wilcox to another SF, 2 pf and 3 centers, pf is sully and randolph and white maybe, center is kg moz and randolph again, one player must be cut thats a 16 roster

I doubt Mario Chalmers, Shane Battier, Kendrick Perkins, Danny Green, Tiago Splitter, Iman Shumpert, Reggie Evans or Lance Stephenson can be considered any more "legit starters" than Brandon Bass.

This team falls apart without big to stand under basket, guard rim with force and contain rebounds for defense
