I really believe that Bass is gearing up for another fine playoff run like he had last year.

did bass really have a fine run last postseason?  he had that one huge game against philly, but other than that he underperformed compared to what he did in the regular season

I believe he had a fine post-season.

The main reasons why we lost to MIA in 7 games was NOT Bass...it was a lack of AB, Wilcox and Jeff Green.

Bass didn't hurt us, and I believe his net worth to us last post-season was mostly good.

i agree we didn't win not bc of bass, i was just stating i thought he underperformed and was inconsistent.  even if his postseason averages were in the same ballpark (but lower), i think his #s were a little skewed bc of that big philly game where i think he had like 27 pts.

my quote wasn't trying to start debate about bass' production, more of im trying to recall my initial memory of his production.  my memory made me think he didn't play as well as he did in the season, enough to be noticeable.

Putting it out there: just because you start, doesn't mean you get more minutes than you could get as a bench player (see Terry and before, Collins)

I do see your point, no harm no foul. :)

For me, I count "fine" as in "You don't do anything out of the ordinary to hurt the team.", lol...Bass did just that, and carries a Playoff Win Shares of 161, which isn't bad at all.

Plus he had a 99 Drtg last playoffs as well.

Whatever changes Doc has in store, I just hope that Bass remains a starter.

I know people are screaming that they saw this could work before Doc and that they don't know why Doc didn't see this earlier...

well, if you listened to post game then you would know the reason it took so long. Doc said they tried it a lot but the problem was that earlier in the season Green was not ready DEFENSIVELY!

They wanted this long ago too... Doc said KG going down might be a blessing (for Green). He said that it works with PP and JG together but last night at first they were having trouble stopping Detroit's faster guards, he said they are going to have to work to figure out how to handle that... he says maybe different line-ups depending on those situations. He also said KG could help a lot in those situations.

Now that Green has come into his own and worked himself into basketball shape (got it together defensively) after the surgery and year off, it's made putting him into the starting lineup easier and at this point a no-brainer!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Finally!

Obviously you want your best players to play the most minutes in the playoffs, and it's easier to do that with Green starting.  I want Green playing around 40 MPG in the playoffs, and KG and Paul maybe high 30s.   You may lose out a little bit in the guard rotation with Terry, Lee, and Crawford but I'm fine with that.   You can always go small off the bench if it's to your advantage.

I think this also help our rebounding numbers.   Green and Pierce should form a strong rebounding wing duo (with Green obviously better rebounding as a 3 than 4).   I think it will help balance our inside out game as both Pierce and Green will post up more at the 2 and 3 spots while Bass and KG like to roam the perimeter more.

Green is probably playing the most minutes on team right now (at least for the last few games he is). Doc trusts Green a lot more now and you're seeing him in those last sec plays, which means a lot more to me than starting. It's saying that he's being trusted to win the game.

The Celtics have no chance if Doc loosens up his minute restrictions on Garnett.

I think this means that Wilcox has a good shot at racking up some DNPs in the playoffs and Bass is going to end up as the primary backup to KG at center.

Well I'm not so sure about that.  KG averaged 36.9 MPG last year in the playoffs with 19.2 PPG and 10.3 RPG.   Where the games are more spaced out with no back to backs it's perfectly fine to extend KG's minutes this time of year IMO.

I think we can up his minutes to mid-high 30s as well.
