Lee/Terry/Crawford (some combo) have to go this offseason for preferably a big.  Writing on the wall, that depth is just not needed and is a detriment.

Lol.. it's funny it took them all season to figure out what I knew prior the season even starting...

Jeff Green is a starter.

I was calling for us to start Pierce at SG and Green at SF... but if Green can hold his own at PF, you keep it as Bradley, Lee, Pierce, Green and KG.

Twas inevitable.  He was clearly the 4th best player on the team ... 3rd when Rondo went out.  No reason to bring him off the bench.

I agree.  Almost always: start your best players.  Saving players for the bench is overrated around here.

I think you're right. You could also add Williams to that mix, and then things get really crowded. I like Jet, but he's probably gone (because of his age and the fact that he's one of the lesser defensive players in that group). Lee can be quite good defensively and hit threes, Williams seems to be good all around with lots of room for growth, and Crawford still has the potential to be harnessed into a great offensive threat. I think it would be nice to head into next season with a backcourt rotation of Rondo, Bradley, Lee, Crawford, and Williams, plus Green and Pierce on the wings, and KG manning the middle, flanked by Sully and Bass. I think Danny's gotta find a way to turn draft picks/JET/Melo(possibly Bass)/filler(Shav,White,etc.) into a guy such as Gortat. A frontcourt rotation of KG/Sully/Gortat, plus possibly Bass and/or Wilcox, would be solid.

I agree that Green should start. He's playing starter's minutes anyway, and he's currently providing the most scoring punch on the team, so have him in from the get-go to get things going sooner. (see what I did there?  ;D)

Pierce and Green seem to be playing quite well together, and having them in at the same time also seems to present quite a few matchup problems for opponents.

I wholeheartedly agreed he should have started at the 4 over bass. People would say "he's not a 4" as if we were sticking nate robinson at power forward or something.

At thsis point I don't mind startig pierce at the 2 but I think most people including me thought that would be too much of a grind for 82 games.

I would rather see Peirce or Green at the 2 then green at the 4.

Can Green or Pierce guard 2's? Should they? I see them spending half of the game trying to chase 2-guards around screens and it seems like a huge waste of their energies.

Yes, he has earned it and hopefully come the playoffs, he is still hot and earning it.

I think the two SF combo being used with Pierce as the primary facilitator is a tough match up for most other teams in the league. Even Miami, the best small ball team on the planet, had trouble with it. Last night, Detroit had no one to match up with Green because of their lack of SFs.

But it will only work if the team continues to go to Green when he has the obvious mismatch like last night when Monroe or Drummond had to guard him or when Haslem or Miller had to guard him against Miami. He can torch this type of player.

This would have been golden in OKC but Green wasn't playing nearly aggressively for it nor were Brooks, Westbrook or Durant able to see this and exploit it, as usually, the first, second, third, fourth and fifth options in OKC tend to be Durant and Westbrook.

I think so... Especially In a system that prevents offensive transition by keeping away from crashing the boards on the offensive end.

And offensively this makes the most sense with JG playing the wing and Pierce playing point-forward, I suppose?

Thank you, Mr. Rivers. We need Jeff's consistent production, and we ain't gonna get it with him on the bench.

finally.  Please read my posts and feel free to give me tommy points for predicting something 8 months in advance.

Maybe its best things rolled out this way but it sure seemed to take a long time.  Me and a few others saw this coming 8 months prior.  Love the team, and love these Pierce green lineups.  I am hoping we can use KG and wilcox together a lot too, when this happens, their is no team that can match up with

Bradley
Pierce
Green
KG
Wilcox

no team.

I'm against this move.

I hate the idea of Pierce, Green, KG all in the same lineup.

Why?!  really?

I feel like i've been arguing with people like you all season.  Explain, especially with all the evidence we now have.

Pierce and green have been averaging a near combined50 points per game when they start together.  Explain how adding a tall defensively skilled Allstar in Garnett could be a bad thing here!??!?

I'm the biggest Jeff Green fan here, but I don't see him getting the shots he needs to get when he plays with two All-Stars who also need shots.

He would be better off coming in for KG at the 6-minute mark, where he would still get his time with Pierce.

[first six minutes]: PP + KG
[second six minutes]: PP + Green

At least, it seems better off that way.

So how does this shake out?

C - KG
PF - Bass
SF - Green
SG - Pierce
PG - AB

Bass has been playing well as of late.
