Pierce should soak the ankle/foot in hot water and move do some aquatic therapy with his foot/ankle. This should be done daily, even after the ankle is feeling no pain.
Forget icing the ankle unless there is severe swelling or severe pain, applying compression is much more important. Icing is really only helpful, if at all, during the first 24 hours post sprain injury.
PP should also increase protein intake and ingest the ends of chicken bones to eat the cartridge, ligaments and tendon. It sounds gross, but there is nutrients and minerals in there that can help speed healing and make the ankle joint stronger to prevent against sprain recurrence.
