How is there not a thread for this?

Carmelo Anthony
50 points
18/26 FGs
7/10 3FGs
7/8 FTs
2 rebounds (0/2)
2 assists
3 PFs
1 steal
0 turnovers
1 block

I guess all he did was score last night. Not much elsewhere ;D I'll take Jeff Green's 43/7/2/4/2 over Melo's 50!

There is a thread for it.  It's called "2012/2013 NBA Season".

Some people were talking about it in there.

And given that Melo actually won the game in which he went off, I'd take Carmelo's game.

agreed. i'd take the man who leads his team wit a career high of 20 points and wins, as opposed to the man who leads his team wit a career high of 70 points and loses.

in green's defense though, he wasnt facin the same competition that melo faced.

Who cares? that's why. Lebron and wade didn't play.

Agreed. Should be ashamed the game was so close, in the first place.

50 points against benchwarmers takes SOME skill though (though the Heat weren't exactly benchwarmers)

He didn't take a single shot in the key.  That is the most impressive feat.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

For me, it's the opposite and makes it less impressive and not sustainable. fluke. Doesn't do it if Lebron plays.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I'm really not impressed by Melo's game. For someone with his size, strength and shot creating ability he should be a lot more efficient. He's 9 years into the league and I've seen very little development in his game or his maturity.

Also, no turnovers, and shot 70% despite generally excellent defense by Battier.  Just a great scorer who was on fire for the night.  I watched this game and was actually kinda disappointed he didn't get more, since he hit 40 in 2.5 quarters.

It's always the guy with 33 points and 9 threes at the half, only to end with 35 points and 9 threes at the end :( Annoys me.

That's been true over the last few years, but he's stepped up noticeably this season.  Most of his efficiency stats are the highest or 2nd-highest of his career, and the Knicks are maybe the best team he's ever had despite a lot of injuries.

It was, the old Melo would have easily went off for 60

I'll be impressed when he does it in the Playoffs.
