I agree that Bradley is in a slump right now offensively. There are a number of factors I see him working through right now:
1. Being the full time starting point guard - that's a different pressure than playing it in spot minutes and there is a learning curve to it.
2. He's probably also learning / understanding the importance of balancing his efforts defensively while still maintaining enough energy on the offensive side of the ball.
3. He's also trying to figure out how to attack the rim/lane as a point guard which is much different than doing it as a two - and he has struggled with that.
3. He also looks a little banged up right now
So I agree, a slump. But Bradley is a good shooter from mid range and the corner threes, plus points on cuts, breaks and slashes to the rim - fully capable of averaging 8-12 a night, maybe 12-15.
But he's a tweener. I think he's not a true point and he's a little too small to play the two permanently.
I think he's an ideal swing guard who can be a disruptive force off the bench for a long, long time, and a very valuable one at that.
This year has been a good learning experience for him.
Love Bradley.
Meanwhile, I think if we had Sully, Rondo and Barbosa and with the growth this team has was making as a team and individually with Sully and Green, we had a very good shot at coming out of the east - IMHO.
Now...tough, but not impossible. Really depends on how healthy KG is and if Green proves to be an animal in the playoffs.
If Green peaks, KG and Pierce do their thing and our role players play inspired ball, physical ball, we still have a decent chance. But everything has to go right.
But again, if Green, Pierce and KG are on fire - there's a chance they can beat anyone.
