The Boston Celtics nearly signed Kenyon Martin earlier this season.

"It was real close," Martin said. "Like, the deal was almost done. From what I understood, Doc [Rivers] wanted me and the players wanted me, but in the 11th hour …"

The Celtics reportedly prioritized backcourt depth over Martin.

"They didn't pull the trigger," Martin said. "And I'm not talking a few days ago or even a few weeks ago. This was a couple of months ago."

Martin signed with the Knicks last month after sitting out all season.

"So now I'm here and I'm going to make them pay -- I'm going to make all the teams that passed on me pay," Martin said.

becuase the saviour of this team is going to be kenyon martin.....

**** sake people KG is out Rondo and sully are out. Lee is out.

k mart is gonna turn this all around............

No one is saying Kenyon Martin would've saved the team. You're TOTALLY missing the point. The point is that Martin would've given us alot more than some of the scrubs that Ainge picked up mid-season like Crawford, T-Will and DJ White.

Ainge whiffed on KMart and he whiffed on Birdman

No he didn't. Ainge made a smart choice to not bring in two washed up, over the hill malcontents to throw onto a team of young players injured vets that has no shot at a title. He decided to save the money and roster spots for better use towards the future of the team.

This doesn't make any sense. They cost the same as those 2 other guys we got and would be only signed for this season as opposed to these muti uear deals we've given out.

If Ainge comes out and says that he based his decision on youth and young prospects for the future and isn't looking at the present that's one thing.

From the sounds of it, especially coming from Doc, they just flat out wiffed. Doc says they were lookig for more of a big. How is DJ white more of a big? He didn't say they were looking for youth or anytjing

I don´t understand, K-Martin is playing well he could give us quality minutes, incomprehensible.

Bass is playing very bad and only KG in the paint? this is the same history, always, not Big Man.

Randolph and DJ White... please Ainge....
