I have john wall as a top 5 pg right now
1. rondo
2. cp3
3.westbrook
4. irving
5.wall
6. rose

Wall was considered a much better prospect coming out of college than Irving. Even though Kyrie was the #1 pick I don't remember too many ppl thinking he would be a superstar like Wall was projected to be.

Irvings never even really been a PG. He's a scoring guard who's a great shooter, and can make plays for his teammates off his ability to draw the defense to him, because of his great scoring ability.

Wall has always been a true PG, which is what made him the better prospect out of college. But he lacked the scoring/shooting ability needed to truly be elite. If he has now added that to his game - a true PG with elite scoring ability - he could get up to CP3 level

Where's Parker?  Wall had an impressive game but without making a list of all the pointguards I probably have Wall around 15.

Wall is not a top 5 PG.

That being said, the thing to remember with him: he is two months younger than the current probable rookie of the year Damian Lillard.  He had plenty of room to grow.  Easy to forget that.

I dont know if I would put him top 5 but he is certainly in the top ten he has to be. His impact on the Wizards is huge. They are 20 and 15 since he has returned and they were just 4- 28 without him.

This season he has averaged 17 and 8 with 1.5 steals shooting 45%...

Now that he has gotten back in the NBA groove and back in game shape, his numbers in March have gotten pretty gnarely. 22 and 8 with 2 steals shooting 52% from the field and 50% from three.

I would have loved to see a full season from this guy. The Wizards, believe it or not, would be fighting the Bucks for the 8th seed. Even with a 4 - 28 start they look like they will be grabbing the 9th slot which is pretty good, can't knock his impact on the team and their gameplay.

Nononono. Watch the highlights and count the well-contested long two's that he took.

He had some nice plays (2-3 gorgeous slashes to the basket), but mostly he got hot, played a dumb high volume game, and got an astronomical number of touch fouls.

Unless he's somehow a good shooter now (no way), he's going to lose the Wizards more games than he wins for them taking all of those jumpers.

I think so too

John Wall
Bradley Beal
Trevor Ariza
Okafor
Nene

that team is young and has some veterans in Nene, Okafor, and Ariza. Wall is a good young point guard that can shoot and drive along with Beal.

I agree next year they are going to challenge the Bucks for the 8th spot, or anyone fighting for the 8th spot.

He only missed 9 shots. He got to the line 24 times meaning he was driving to the hoop at some high rate. Like I stated above he is shooting 52% in march with 50% from behind the three line, while also getting to the line 6 times per game. Plus they are 20 and 15 in game Wall has played this year...

not sure you could ask for much more than that or how you could say he is going to hurt the wizards and lose games for them when they were 4 - 28 without him.

I don't doubt that John Wall was simply red hot last night.  I don't expect that his shooting will stay that good.  He's not Kyrie Irving.

But I also would expect his jumper to continue to improve.  He will be a 20+ ppg scorer perhaps as soon as next season.

Wall is a really exciting player because his game and physical profile make him sort of like a mix of Rondo and Russell Westbrook.  The Wizards still need to put some better players around him, but if they can stay healthy next season Wall - Beal - Nene - Okafor could be enough to give them a shot at the playoffs.

apropos of nothing, I dare you to try to count how many steps he took on the drive of the game after picking up his dribble!

You are making my point. He only missed 9 shots. Half of his shots were iso jumpers from mid-to-deep range and Wall is a sub-par shooter. He's good, but he's one of the poorer jump shooters in the NBA- Memphis absolutely wanted him to take those shots. This time around, he got hot and it bit them.

He did a fantastic job getting to the foul line, but I watched this game and have no problem telling you that he had a lucky night with the calls, too.

My point is not that he played a bad game. He was awesome. My point is that NBA players have games like this given the opportunity. Wall is good, but he's a very inefficient player so far in his career. Putting him in the top 5 of point guards is CRAYCRAY.

There is no way John Wall is a top 5 PG and Tony Parker isn't. He's improving, but has still underachieved as the #1 pick.

Also putting Rose at 6 doesn't make much sense. Obviously we have no idea what he's going to look like when he returns, but he was much higher than 6th before the ACL tear. It's just pure speculation to assume he'll come back as the 6th best PG in the league, it could go either way.

Wall is not any more of a true point then Irving....he's also a scoring 2 with a much worse jumper...he's done nothing to be a top 5, absolutely nothing....potential to be? Ok....ahead of rose? An MVP? Right.

A top 5 point guard? Oh boy (Tommy voice). And how do you not have Tony Parker on that list?
