Doc is getting out-coached.
I don't think he is getting out-coached. The other team just has more horses.

Doc doesn't have the options on his bench to respond. No KG. Very little big man talent outside of KG. No forwards with size outside of Pierce/Green. Too many undersized guards.

Knicks don't have Chandler, Amare, ...

I guess the Knicks are on a 25 game win streak. Nobody can guard journeyman Novak. All teams must go small to face these Knicks.

All I see is playing small ball but being down 14.  Making JR Smith look like Bernard King.
Bernard KING.man e was a scoring MACHINE..a ball hog too, but i think he had a high % of made shots though.....right..?

We should trade Jeff Green and our pick for Batum

Unfortunately, I think all of Doc's big man options are unable to defend Novak. All of them struggle to defend three point shooting bigs. Garnett is the only big on the roster who does that well.

If Doc had better big men and didn't use them, then it would be his fault. But he doesn't have the talent. Not in terms of overall big man talent or the defensive range required to defend a perimeter big like Novak. His hands are tied.

I am all for playing big against this Knicks team if you have the right personnel but this Boston team today doesn't have that.

Ok, Doc, you are right with the pace thing, but everybody but you can see your players don't want to pick up the pace... stop the small ball nonsense and put the Chinese 3 in the game.

Bad game so far, refs are horrible but Celtics are not playing.

Go Celtics! Come back and beat the Knucklebockers!

I wonder if Wilcox could cover a three point shooter like Novak. It has been awhile since I have seen him try to defend someone like that. He has been defending interior players almost all the time here.

Bass certainly can't. I don't think DJ White or Shavlik Randolph can either.

true, but novak is preety easy to deny the ball from....he is no ray allen.....he moves little, he can basically just shoot a 3....with little movement....i know, he did that fake.....but just in his face....he has nothing.

Did you get to see the game the other night? Down about 25, Doc put White and Randolph in. Celtics come roaring back. In 7 minutes Whites has 4 pts, 2 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Randolph had 2 points,4 rebounds, and 1 block. Could of had more points but missed a couple fts.

I bet wilcox could cover him.he moves well...as we see on those alley-oops....all he has to do is just stay with him then no one will pass to him.

It is the team defense sequences that cause problems for bigs. Knowing when and how to play help defense off of a shooter like Novak. Lots of bigs struggle with that.

Getting caught in no-mans land.
