To the Jeff Green detractors...yes he may not rebound well RIGHT NOW, but give him time...
Time, people...
We cannot honestly say WHAT his ceiling is...man played out of position in OKC...was saved (Thank God) from passing away by our alert medical staff...is still recovering from his surgery and getting his confidence back.
With these flashes of brilliance, I'm very optimistic about his future. He is just approaching his prime.
What I hope doesn't happen is that the man falls into the "Larry Bird - Antoine Walker" scenario....I remember when Larry moved on, and Antoine HAD to be the next "Star" for BOS....some of us expected that.....right?
Antoine Walker could not POSSIBLY fill Bird's shoes, but the man did his best...Tommy even loved him.
There will certainly NOT be another Paul Pierce, but let's not prematurely cap Jeff Green's game ALREADY...
Did ANYONE see 43 pts in basically 3 qtrs coming in that MIA game?
Jeff Green is special...I'm telling you.
Maybe not in the Miami game, but it was bound to come sometime this season. I expected a superb defensive effort and a decent offensive side dish. I did expect him to have a 40-point game sometime this season.
And yes, he's special and can be a star. A top-3 SF in the league, at the very-best. A 15/5 guy at worst. This guy was a good gamble, and I don't know what a lot of CB posters were saying when they said Jeff was a waste of money. But, we have three more years to develop him.
This could be a heist (just like we literally stole Rondo for cheap) Now that I think about it, the Rondo and Green salaries are very similar...
And for the record, I see
Jeff Green being a top 5 SF in this league in 2 years, something almost nobody agreed with in the earlier part of this season. I'm glad he's changing people's minds. What a man.
