So I was just thinking, after PP and KG retires (hopefully later than sooner) What our line up could look like, and realistic pieces that we can have.
I know we can't afford the Dwight Howards the Lebrons and the Durants of the world.
So my realistic dream line up is.

Rajon Rondo
Avery Bradley
Jeff Green
Jared Sullinger

Greg Monroe

Bench
Courtney Lee
Jordan Crawford

Terrence White
Chris Wilcox
Greg Smith
Lavoy Allen

Fab Melo

The Players in red are the ones I really want for this team to take interest in.
The Players in blue are the ones that I don't mind if they are here or not/ replacable
The Players in green are the ones that I would like the C's to keep.

I think its pretty realistic, somewhat.
It gives us Youth and Athleticism.

Tell me what you guys think. And I want to see your realistic dream line up.

Ps I like Crawford because every great team needs a Crazy guy.

I think that when Pierce and Garnett retire we will realistically have 2-3 more "great" years with Rondo, and Bradley will be coming into his prime. We will be in dire need of a solid, all-star caliber big man in order to compete.

Rondo
Bradley
Green
Sullinger
Bynum/Cousins

Bench
Bass
Melo
Travis Outlaw
Crawford

I think that the only way we are going to land a player who fits the criteria of a star big man is if we take a flyer on someone who admittedly has their limitations.

I like it, although I'd take a rain check on Bynum, I don't think he will be able to play on a high level specially after taking this year off after his injury, even if he gets surgery.

I like Cousins though, I just think its tough to get him, plus he has some "baggages" but he is a really talented player.

I like that you also think that we need a legit star big man!

Davis

Would like to maybe get Davis in a trade for pieces that include Sullinger (long shot but i dont know, just cant see him wanting to stay in NO) We will have the cap room to add 2 all star caliber players in Monroe and Davis

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Brow.
I think its a very long shot, but it would be great if we got him.
I also kinda like Sully a whole lot. So its tough!

I think Monroe is not impossible to acquire. I really like his game.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Let's start by looking at our core.

We have Rondo, AB, Green and Sully. We have that four. And now let's assume we will have the same lineup as this year.

We are going to draft, we should draft big. I'm drafting Jeff Whitey. At worst he could be a very solid backup center, at best he can be a defensive stalwart.

Whatever happens that season, we move forward. KG and PP calls it a career. With about say 20 mil in cap room.

Try to sign Carl Landry or Jeremy Tyler or Jason Smith as Sully's back up. We know what Landry can bring, offer him about 7 mil a year. Tyler's potential is still solid high, he's young, he's a willing defender and learner, and he can come cheap. Jason Smith is solid all around, not great but not bad either.

I'd go for Ariza as a backup 3. And I'd overpay for him (around 6-7 million) just to get him. Try to sign Larry Sanders and offer him the most money we can offer, if it doesnt work, will try to sign Gortat. Will sign Brandon Rush as well, three point threat and a very good defender.

So the 2014 lineup looks like this.

Rondo      /   Lee
Bradley    /   Rush
Green      /   Ariza
Sullinger  /   Landry/Jason Smith/Jeremy Tyler
*Gortat    /   Jeff Whitey
or Sanders

We have draftees that we can use to fill out the rest, but the basic 10 man rotation would be like that.

It's not a dream lineup, but a realistic and a contending one.

Sign Andrew Bynum and Greg Oden for the mid level and bi-annual exceptions!  ;D

I think a lineup of Rondo, Bradley, Green, Sullinger, and Marc Gasol is a realistic possibility when Gasol is a free agent in 2015.  Possibly a year earlier if you want to trade Sullinger and filler.  Joachim Noah would probably also be acceptable.

I'm basically looking at mature, big salary centers from teams that are known to be willing to dump salary from a good team to stay under the luxury tax.

none of you have the guts to trade Rondo for a big?

PG - Bradley
SG - Lee
SF - Green
PF - Sully
C - Big Al

Solid 25-38 win team right there.

I'm seeing way too many lineups with a top 20 player and nobody else that comes close to top 50.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I want Al Horford.

I saw Larry Sanders, which I'm not opposed to but that's cuz I went to VCU.
