Two years ago, Peyton Manning was recovering from what could have been career-ending neck surgery.

Two years ago, Tom Brady was throwing to real receivers.

Adversity comes in many forms.

I am not sure I understand...

Manning is in his 2nd full season with a stacked Broncos team. At one point in time he was injured, but isn't now and hasn't even been close to it for a while now.

Brady and the Pats lost the majority of their pro-bowl players and are somehow still bowling over teams. It's an amazing thing to watch.

Manning had adversity when he first returned at the beginning of last year, but Brady is definitely dealing with more issues now.

Manning now wears a glove on his throwing hand permanently, because nerve damage in his neck prevents him from having a good grip/sensation in his throwing hand. What he has done this year given this condition is nothing short of amazing.

Even besides Manning's nerve damage and loss of arm strength / grip, the Broncos have overcome their share of adversity caused by injuries this year.  They lost their pro bowl left tackle, and something like 5 or 6 defensive starters (including Von Miller).

I think both teams have done a heck of a job getting to the conference finals.  They've both overcome some devastating injuries and off-field distractions.

Pretty much. I also think that "at one point in time he was injured but he isn't now" does a major disservice to what Manning went through.

I've got no dog in this fight--I cover some football, so I don't really root for any team except the Seahawks, purely on account of the Marshawn Lynch earthquake a couple years ago.

So, predictions for today?

I want the Patriots to win. I don't think it happens. I think the Broncos get the first touchdown, and lead by a touchdown throughout the entire game. Final score something like 35-28.

I want Seattle to win, and I think they will. I think SF-Seattle will be a game with lots of lead changes, but ultimately Seattle pulls out the W.

I damaged a nerve in my back this summer which effected my shoulder (essentially as if I had severely torn the rotator cuff). What Manning is doing with nerve damage is amazing.

Also, let me tell you why I think the Broncos will win: Jack del Rio. There has been a huge deal made this week about how Brady has never lost to del Rio. Too much has been made of it, IMHO. Its payback time for del Rio.

I have no prediction, but am incredibly psyched for this game.  Hope the Pats can run on the Broncos and that the Pats D can limit touchdowns.  Avoid mistakes.

Hope the game is all it's hyped to be and that the Patriots end up on top.

Perfect weather and Pats with the ball first.  Two bad ways to start.

I think they're fine.  Denver's defense usually fades late.

Talib out now?

Man, this season.

Broncos have looked cool and in control so far.  Not sure the Pats have the weapons or the horses on defense.  Oh well.

Been a good ride nonetheless!

yea just need a score before halftime , keep it within a TD and you have a shot in the 2nd half .
