He's in the starting lineup tonight.

Then again, that injury may have been a little overblown seeing as he was able to walk it off. But then again, that picture was nasty and it took my friend 8 weeks to recover from a lesser injury. Then again, Kobe is a god.

Would you expect anything different from him?

Severly sprained.  Out indefinitely.  BS from the start.  It was not severely sprained or he couldn't have walked with minimal limp as he did shortly after the injury (many of us know first hand the differnece between a mild and badly sprained ankle).  Glad he's OK, but the making of 'Hero Kobe' is vomitous.  Hope they lose tonight.

Well, of course he is.  His track record needs no further proving.

He is also a lot of other things, mostly negative.  Personally, I despise him as a human being, but immensly respsect him as a player.

Anyone who wouldn't want him on their team is nuts, if you ask me.

I thought it was overstated but after the picture, I really don't think he's making this all up. It looks pretty bad to me.

Most of his injuries are overstated.  I'm not questioning his toughness, the guy is a warrior - but if his ankle sprain was "severe", he wouldn't even be able to put pressure on it.  I'm sure many of you who have played BBall or other sports and had a severe sprain would attest to this.  I couldn't walk for a week - both times - after I busted my ankle on two different occasions.

If he can play an NBA game - or even think about playing an NBA game, his foot is fine.  That is all.

I do hope people understand that I don't know Kobe or his ankle personally.  Obviously, I could be wrong.  But the pic you provided doesn't do it for me.  Unsure what is bone v. swelling and equally unsure what level of swelling equals severe.  I just know that I've had mild, moderate and severe ankle sprains.  I am not Kobe Bryant, but I would have had to be somethign other than human to have played 2 days after my severe sprain. So, maybe Kobe is not really human.  Rondo gutted out in unreal fashion a hideous elbow injury but was significantly impaired by it. We'll see tonight if Kobe is hampered..

Curious what your take on pierce getting wheeled off in a wheelchair and coming back the same game is and ultimately winning finals MVP

Idk if you think Kobe plays these things up then pierce is the all time worst

Myself, I think they're both all time competitors.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
Tis Kobe hate by celtic fans is unreal, but I understand it. he cannot do anything right, for due to one reason only; he doesnt play for us. Whatever his personal shortcomings are, and him, like all of us have them, some worse than others, the reason we all know Kobe is not for his personal life, but for his life in the basketball court, like most NBA players. Lets judge players for what they do in the basketball court as players, like we do judge our Celtic players.
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

Horrible thread title.

I dislike Kobe not because he's not a Celtic, not because he plays for the Fakers. I dislike him for his MJ copycat antics, for his hero ballhogging, for throwing his teammates under the bus and for being overrated.

Video game ratings/ESPN/Stern are a curse to the game of basketball and sport in general. Team play, respect and humility are underrated as heck. Highlight reels, drama and showboating are considered 'cool'. Disgusting.

On topic, if he can play, it's not that severe... otherwise, he might be doing a silly thing. Just remember McHale playing on a broken foot. If Kobe is a warrior, then McHale was what?

He is proving a point to DH that he plays with pain.
