Players that do this are stubborn. Brett favre and that stupid starts streak he was going out there towards the end of it all crippled up to play up to his image.

Same with Kobe. Hobbles around a bit to show that he can "play" through pain but it really hurts his team a lot more than help. Selfish.

I've done this before too. I pretended that my ankle was okay during warm ups after a severe sprain so I could start and play in college. Then on one cut my coach saw me favir it and took me out.

Being stubborn isn't necessairly a good trait.

Well, it's worked amazingly for the past seventeen years so if I were Kobe, I'd take my chances.

No Kobe/Lakers fan can complain about Paul Pierce and the wheelchair as evidence of being a drama queen without looking like a hypocrite unless they also bash Kobe for this.  (They'd still be wrong, but at least they wouldn't be hypocrites.)

He's in the starting lineup tonight.

Then again, that injury may have been a little overblown seeing as he was able to walk it off. But then again, that picture was nasty and it took my friend 8 weeks to recover from a lesser injury. Then again, Kobe is a god.

Severly sprained.  Out indefinitely.  BS from the start.  It was not severely sprained or he couldn't have walked with minimal limp as he did shortly after the injury (many of us know first hand the differnece between a mild and badly sprained ankle).  Glad he's OK, but the making of 'Hero Kobe' is vomitous.  Hope they lose tonight.
