Paul Pierce Speaking At UMass Boston This Afternoon

Excuse me if this has already been posted - I couldn't find it anywhere.

Paul Pierce will be speaking on leadership at 4:00PM today at the UMB gym. He'll be joined by Bob Ryan and the nutritionist from the Red Sox. Doors open at 3:15.

I'm going to try to make my way over there so I'll provide a recap here if anyone is interested. He's supposed to take questions, and I plan to ask about his first impression of being named captain by the Celtics - a topic that Tommy touched on last night.

Very excited to hear my favorite player speak. Especially after the night he had last night...4:00PM can't get here soon enough!! Also excited to hear what Bob Ryan has to say. I've always loved his work.

Just got back. Pretty good time. Focused a lot on his foundation Truth on Health. Couple good exchanges between Pierce and Mr. Ryan. At one point Bob was talking about how the players used to smoke at half time and Pierce interrupted to ask if they ever drank beers at half time.

Said Big Baby used to keep cookies and potato chips in his locker, which is unheard of in the NBA - claimed that there were always crumbs around his locker...until Pierce and KG got in his ear about it.

He also touched on Ray's departure. Expressed his feeling that Ray will always be his brother after the bond they they formed over the past few years, but he was disappointed that he didn't stick around. Said it didn't hurt so much that he left, but rather it hurt that he went to the Heat.

UMB filmed the whole thing and I think they're uploading it to youtube. I'll post the link if anyone is interested.
