Looks like the "real" Jeff Green is back.  You know, passive nowhere to be found Jeff.

Just when I think he's turned a corner, then this.  I ain't letting him fool me no more.

Jeff Green=average

been waiting for this post lol

He never left. A few good games doth not a player make.

Please, the whole team sucked tonight - Garnett went 2-10. If Jordan/Bledsoe really was on the table, I am wondering how we didn't do everything possible to get KG to waive his no-trade clause. I love this team and I love KG/Pierce, but watching a 20+ point loss to the Bobcats is just depressing.

But of course if Kendrick Perkins was here [instead of Jeff Green and Fab Melo], all would be perfect.

KG has absolutely killed us these last two games. With pierce and rondo out the last thing we needed was KG shooting 20 percent tonight. Can't just pin this on one player tho. The whole team deserves credit for this pathetic loss.

I went off on my own tangent there...that wasn't necessarily related to you - just that the Jeff Green deal won't even be considered decent until he leads the team to a championship.

Green is what he is. Sometimes he is fantastic and aggressive and sometimes he is more passive. It would be wonderful if he could be the aggressive type all of the time, but I don't think tonight can be blamed on him. Everybody except Crawford was terrible tonight.

I have to agree with this. In an uptempo offense he is a very good player, but if the team is not running, like tonight he is an average player at best. Its very predictable what he is going to do with the ball when he gets it. Either a jumper or a clear out. No pnr's , no movement from anyone when the ball is in his hands. His passing skills are comparable to Brandon Bass. Not to mention, he passes up wide open looks and then shots a challeneged jumper all the time.

Offensively, Green's better trying to score against power forwards and backup small forwards than starting small forwards so it's not entirely surprising that he had an off night.  That said, everyone had an off night.

Green's been most successful starting against 4s or being the backup 3 playing with Lee and Terry.  That trio had a ton of energy and chemistry and played really well before Rondo went down.

Didn't see the game. Not surprised Jeff green went into his disappearing act. He's been thriving over the last couple months as a role playing bench player but clearly, without someone to facilitate the offense, he is lost because he can't do it.

Didn't see the game as it wasn't broadcast here in Florida but who the heck let Gerald Henderson score 35 points? Was that Bradley or Lee because whoever did, that's embarrassing.

Yeah, especially clear in that game he started instead of Pierce last month. Or when Rondo was "facilitating" for him.

Green's best games come when he has the ball in his hands and works his defender aggressively. The consistency in doing the latter has been an issue, so far.

Not sure what everyone is so fired up about.  Jeff Green put up similar numbers to what he always does.  14 points (average) on 4-11 shooting (slightly below average) in 30 minutes (average).  The idea that he would do more because PP was out just isn't really there.  30 minutes?

He didn't get more minutes than he usually does and was just slightly less efficient than he usually is.  He is a great player within the offense but will never be THE offense.  He isn't a guy that just tries to "get his" in 1-on-1 battles.

Garnett was very cold (2-10) and Pierce wasn't playing.  Tough to win when that happens.

I completely expect Jeff Green to "bounce back" by going something like 16 point on 6-11 shooting in win and everyone praising him for it.

Big difference between finding his own shot, creating his own shot, and being an offensive facilitator. I would have figured you would know the difference koz.

As a role playing bench player, green can look to create his own shot or look to establish his own shot. That's his role. Score off the bench.

But to take over for Pierce when Rondo is gone and facilitate an entire offense, getting others involved and making sure the offense runs efficiently through you, Green can't do that. Its beyond his capabilities.

The last paragraph is what stands out the mot to me.  How the heck is Jeff Green supposed to be the "future" if he can't do this?  Yet some people keep trying to sell this narrative.

The point is, he isn't the "future" of anything.  Pierce will be gone shortly, and then what?
