Didn't see the game. Not surprised Jeff green went into his disappearing act. He's been thriving over the last couple months as a role playing bench player but clearly, without someone to facilitate the offense, he is lost because he can't do it.
Yeah, especially clear in that game he started instead of Pierce last month. Or when Rondo was "facilitating" for him.
Green's best games come when he has the ball in his hands and works his defender aggressively. The consistency in doing the latter has been an issue, so far.
Big difference between finding his own shot, creating his own shot, and being an offensive facilitator. I would have figured you would know the difference koz.
As a role playing bench player, green can look to create his own shot or look to establish his own shot. That's his role. Score off the bench.
But to take over for Pierce when Rondo is gone and facilitate an entire offense, getting others involved and making sure the offense runs efficiently through you, Green can't do that. Its beyond his capabilities.
I understand the difference, I guess I'm saying that just because you stick him in in Pierce's spot doesn't mean he should play like Pierce.
Green is able and should dominate games offensively simply by finding good shots, as he often has either a speed or a size mismatch. Even more so against the Bobcats, who are fielding a lineup of career role-players/backups.
Of course, trying to have him be a point forward is a recipe for disaster, and is not going to work. I fully expected Garnett to do more of the facilitating and Green to do more of the scoring with Pierce out, but the game didn't turn out this way.
