I've said it once, and I'll say it again.  Westbrook is ridiculously overrated.  Complete chucker and a hindrance to OKC.

I'd take Rondo a millions times over this bum.  He's Monta Ellis with better teammates.

Not my idea of a PG at all.

Kevin Durant leads NBA in scoring but doesn't take most shots on OKC. Westbrook: 18.8 FGA PG; Durant 17.9 FGA PG

Yeah, that probably shouldn't happen...

Im in the mind set that with the team he has, Durant should be talking 25-30 shots a night. EASILY. I hate...HATE!!!!!!!!, Despise, on a cellular level Westbrick. Seriously think rondo would average 10-5-15 on that team if he was traded there, probably with 2 steals a night.

Westbrook is so overated its not funny. In a league that is dominated by scoring point guards.... They gave the wrong bloke the 80 mil contract.....

Ive hated what westbrook does to durant. if he was the best player on the team it wouldnt matter, but that he averages more shots a game than the league leader in scoring and top 3 player in the league is just horrible. I'm hoping they trade him for a pass first point guard that can score, not a score first point guard who can pass.

I think Westbrook's better than Ellis, but I pretty much agree with this.

OKC, in my opinion, would've been much better off trading Westbrook and keeping Harden.  Harden can fill it up, while also being a great passer.  He also knows when he should pass, unlike Westbrook.

The best kind of PG for the Thunder would be a Mario Chalmers-type.  A guy who defends, sets up the offense every now and then (because Harden will probably bring the ball up a lot), and hit threes.  Anything extra (like Chalmers having a big night scoring against us in Game 2) is extra.

This is a Durant issue not a Westbrook issue.

Agree.

I felt like Durant needed some kind of failure to light a fire inside him - and I thought last year's finals loss was that failure.

I expected him to become this ruthless scoring monster.........and it hasn't really happened.  I mean, the dude drops 28 a game EASY, but there isn't that killer instinct that you see out of guys who want it (KG, Kobe, LeBron, etc.).

Personally, I think he's scared to let Westbrook know that he's the MAN, and that Westbrook is his second banana.

This is not to say Durant isn't a great player, but I think he lacks that extreme aggressiveness that is needed to win.  He's a bit too unselfish for a league-leading scorer.

You forgot to mention, Durant had MORE points on just 13 shots. Durant ended with 26 and Russel had 25.

I like Westbrook, kid is crazy athletic. But that is just ridiculous.

Durant is the BEST scorer in the league (as a scorer I like him better than Lebron but I admit its debatable). You can't be taking twice the number of shots as him in any game.

Its one thing if he had the hot hand of the night and was knocking down everything he put up like Steph Curry the other night. And I realize a shooter has to keep shooting, you can't lose confidence in yourself because eventually they'll start falling for you.

This isn't all Westbrook's fault though. Scotty Brooks and Durant don't want to get in his head or hurt his confidence by telling him he needs to feed Durant, but at a certain point someone needs to tell Russel that he is Robin not Batman.

It isn't Westbrook, it is Durant.  There are plenty of shots to go around for Westbrook to take 18 a game and for Durant to still get his, Durant just doesn't do it.  I mean James and Wade each took over 18 shots a game their first year together and last year were both right around that number.  Wade is more efficient than Westbrook, but no where near as efficient as James, yet you don't see the same criticism of Wade as you do of Westbrook because James gets his shots when he wants and/or needs to.  The issue is Durant, it is not Westbrook.

I agree, but its not all on Durant.

Westbrook needs to scale it back, he takes a lot of shots early in the clock, sometimes Durant doesn't have a chance to touch the ball or get it where he wants it. Durant needs to be more assertive and find that "killer instinct" you see with Lebron and Carmelo where they just attack. Sometimes its like Durant is waiting for the right shot in the right spot rather than just going for it like Westbrook does, which is why there can be such a large difference in their number of shots.

But Westbrook is carrying the ball up the floor so he can shoot whenever he wants. Durant needs to get the ball passed to him and a lot of times Westbrook has already taken a shot with over half the shot clock left. Wade made an effort to get the ball to Lebron early in the clock and let him do his thing. Westbrook doesn't look to get the ball to Durant and then just step back enough.

Its a 3 person problem. Durant needs to be more assertive, Westbrook needs to scale it back and Brooks needs to make sure they both realize this.

Durant lets Westbrook shoot. The team is confident in him and when he starts hitting, he Thunder are pretty much invincible. Think about it. If the top scorer and the sixth top scorer in the league are both on fire, who's gonna stop you? Nobody. OKC needs Russ to make buckets, and he's not always inefficient. Watch him play some more, and you'll see Durant defer to Westbrook a lot too. Super athletic, good passer, good shooter.

Last comment. You don't just average 23.4 points (6th in the league) and play inefficiently next to the b est scorer in the league. He's obviously been doing something right, but we non-OKC fans are too critical of Westbrook's "chucking" (something OKC doesn't even see) hmmmmm
