I would consider making any of the following trades.

Charlotte
Kemba Walker, Ben Gordon, Rights to Detroit and Portland picks for Rondo, Sullinger, Melo

New Orleans
Rivers, Lopez, 2013 1st, filler (if needed) for Rondo

Phoenix
Dragic, Beasley, 2013 1st for Rondo

Atlanta
Teague (sign & trade), Lou Williams, 2014 1st, 2016 1st for Rondo

Miami
Wade for Rondo, Bass

Only the Miami trade is any good.  Everything else is the poo-poo platter.  Not a single building block better then Rondo in there.  Two of them require the Celtics to take back a player on a bad contract.  (any deal Beasley is on at this moment is a bad contract)

I think the Miami trade is my least favorite. Also it's the most ridiculous probably.

The other trades are interesting though. If You swap Gordon for Doip and it's Walker/Diop and 2 (protected) 1sts then I'm interested. I don't want Gordon in any way. I'm not moving Sully in a Rondo deal unless we're getting back a top 10 player or a ton of picks.

The Atlanta trade is okay although I'm not in love with Teague. Teague/Williams and two mid-round 1sts is a good offer I think. It's not fair value but it's probably about what we should expect.

The PHX and NOH trades aren't on the level we should be looking. One 1st and role players isn't enough. Multiple 1sts and a young prospect along with expiring to salary match would be the offer that is working taking. Anything less and it seems like we want to trade him I think. I certainly hope we don't want to trade a player like Rondo. He's fast become my favorite NBA player.
I think I liked the Charlotte deal the best if rebuilding was the route to go.  Gordon is expiring and has the dollars required to make the trade work.  Walker has some flaws, but has talent and is improving, and the Detroit and Portland picks would be major additions, Portland this year (likely) and Detroit in the future.  I don't think Boston could get both of those picks without also including Sullinger and with his back issues, I think Boston would part with him in that trade.  Also, if Boston did that trade I would absolutely expect KG to retire and Pierce to be bought out, which would send Boston into full rebuilding ahead of what looks like the deepest draft in awhile, with hopefully 2 lottery picks (their own and Detroit's which is only top 8 protected in 2014).  There also might be moves out there for guys like Terry and Bass to a team looking to add some quality relatively cheap depth and maybe Boston could pick up some more young pieces or picks.  And with Gordon having a fairly large expiring deal, Boston would be players to get more young players (on longer contracts) and assets using his expiring contract (take on a bad contract for firsts or young players, which if you are rebuilding doesn't matter a lot - like say trade for Gordon for Beasley, Frye, and a 1st or something like that).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Milsap or Jefferson

In my NBA 2K13... Utah signed Jefferson to 16 million a year.  I traded them rondo and bass straight up.

I like this trade, think it is a win win for both teams.

I don't like taking on that kind of salary for guys who aren't going to put this team over the top. To me, taking on a Milsap or Jefferson (next year) makes you the sixers.

A perennial all-star capable big man, or a Top 3 pick in the upcoming draft would be acceptable returns.

I think it's pretty clear by now where I am on a possible Rondo trade.

However, the answer to a Rondo for Big Al No D trade here is a resounding, "NO!"

No interest in ever seeing Jefferson and his defensive laziness in a Boston uniform. Ever.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

The only guy off Orlando's roster I'd be interested in is Vucevic.

I'd try

Boston gets:
Vucevic, Moe Harkless (or Tobias Harris), Jameer Nelson and their 2013 first (or swap firsts this year and next year).

Orlando gets:
Rondo and Melo

allstar big man or top 5 pick is what i'd want...

Dragic, filler and the suns' first?
You'd have to include Gortat in any deal with the Sun's. But I could see them being very interested in trading for Rondo given that their best chance at becoming relevant again is in their first round picks and they haven't had a successful first round choice since Amar'e in 2002.

Maybe:
Boston:
Dragic, Gortat, Dudley (or the better of the Morris twins, I don't know which), 2013 first or 2014 first

Phoenix:
Rondo, Bass (if we are lucky, more likely Terry), Melo

I don't see many All-star bigs out there that teams will be willing to part with that would be much better than Big Al. I'm not crazy on bringing him back, but less because of his lack of D and more because of his price tag (16 mil a year I assume).

Other than Cousins (who I honestly think could work here) is there any other big out there that you could see us getting that is worth Rondo?

Why should Orlando give up a '14 unprotected pick which would be a very deep draft by assumption?
They need pieces, not a centerpiece to build around, and giving away a valuable pick won't be the best way to start off, not really.

If anything, this type of deal would have been the thing to do in the recent past. I think it's getting to late for it now -- there's really no point to adding mid-level pieces and salaries for Rondo if the team then presumably wouldn't have KG and / or Paul, or at least still have them at championship form, and that clock is ticking in a big way.

Dragic, Green, Gortat, Lee, Bradley et al is a lottery team with little to no cap space. If you're going to trade Rondo, get a true building block, or clear room and get rookie contracts and picks.
