  • It's what I do! It's who I am!
I'm all for him losing some weight. Imagine Sully being quicker to the ball?

Imagine less rebounds, lessefficient boxing out, less effective post game.

So him getting fatter means more rebounds more efficient boxing out, more effective post game?

Sully getting skinnier doesnt mean less rebounds your weight doesnt have anything to do with your rebounding rate

Didn't say that.

Less rebounds is because of less efficient boxing out.
Less efficient boxing out is because he'll be smaller.

He's already a very undersized center, and his broadness is what lets him overpower other PFs usually. If he loses weight and becomes skinny like JJJ or something, there's no way he can reboudn well.

And he won't post up as well either.

If anything, stay the same weight, but with muscle rather than fat.

we dont need him to lose weight, we need him to lose body fat.
Lose fat, add muscle! :)

It seems like most good players get thinner during the off season and get a little chunky *during* the season. We all noticed it with Glen Davis, too. It probably has to do with eating while on the road: eating in restaurants, eating at irregular times and often late nights, and just generally getting away from good nutritional habits.

Sullinger really needs to work on core strength to help protect his back. Get his core weight down and keep it down and really build up muscle there in its place.

This guy had body fat of 10% even before he got to play with the C's. This fact's been on my mind for a while.

Nobody should even think of comparing him to BBD anymore, hopefully. (The body fat is a big thing but also Sully is taller, has good wingspan...and we're just talking the physical attributes of both players here. Sully's game is all in the head.)

Edit:

But yes. He definitely looks a bit skinnier. Expecting big things.

According to DraftExpress, Sully and Davis both measured out at 6'7 3/4" without shoes.

I think what we're seeing is nothing more than, these guys are a lot longer and leaner than many people think.  Sully looks "fat" next to super lean athletic guys.  When viewing him out of that context, he looks more normal (i.e., less fat).

If Kevin Love can do it, Sully can too!
