I know this guy is suppose to be a scorer, but am I the only one who can not stand this guys game. He is so sloppy. I would love to see his minutes given to Williams.

TP from me...TOTALLY agree! I was just telling a friend of mine the very same thing today. I don't trust him at all. He's a loose cannon that can score. I don't like his demeanor, his brash cockiness and his wild array of shots annoy the hell out of me. Barbosa at least had a plan b4 he attacked. This dude just goes and whatever happens happens. He's gonna cost us come playoff time. I hope I'm wrong but I see bad news written all over him. Twill, I love, although he hasn't gotten much time yet. You can tell he's humble now and willing to play "within" himself to benefit the team. Crawford is Barbosa on steroids lol... SMH

Relax. He was on the Wizards for crying out loud. That had to set his game back just by association. He's been here less than 2 weeks. His game will be refined in time. I think he is more awkward looking than wild.

He is definitely a talented offensive player and looks quick and strong enough to not embarrass himself defensively if he buys in.

I actually think he can positively affect a playoff game a la Nate. Just tonight I think he had 10 points in the 2nd half (all in the 4th?). He can hit open shots and contested ones as well. For a team with so many players looking to make the extra/perfect pass, I like having a guy like him on the roster who can look to put the ball in the basket.

We should be patient with him.

Personally, the whole "loose cannon" thing is a bit overworked ... I like his aggressiveness, his shot, his loosey-goosey athleticism, and being on the same team with The Truth and Big Ticket, (as well as being coached by Doc Rivers), there's very little room for him to get carried away with anything.

He would be benched long before he'd be allowed to hurt the team in such a way during the playoffs. I think he's right where he needs to be, and the positive role models here and mentoring will make him take things more seriously and less selfishly.

I actually like what I've seen so far, and am not too worried about him ever being much of a detriment ... I think there's larger likelihood that he'll thrive within this system.

I agree I don't like his game either and it has the potential to screw up a game but I did like his las t two shots that looked controlled and I noticed Doc said something to him comin to the bench and he seemed to calm down a little.  If he learns to play within himself and the system, which I think doc is trying to groom him for, then I think he'll be a very good piece.

Give the kid some time. You can't deny the talent.

Yes his game can be alarming, it does at times have a bit of an awkward/sloppy/loose cannon feel to it and his cockiness is offputting for most. But he has never had the opportunity to play on a winning team with such high quality veterans before. He is used to going out there and just doing his thing like he always has ever since he was in high school.

Let him get acclimated to the system, have KG, JET, PP etc. reign him in a bit and that shooting talent could prove tremendously useful now and into the future. If he takes the time to work on his basically non-existent defense, takes better quality shots and learns to play within a system, we could be looking back at this trade as a serious coup. And if not his salary cap hit is minimal and I can't imagine shipping him out would net us less than the ancient Jason Collins and injured Barbosa we paid for him.

It is FAR too early to reach a conclusion about a player acquired from the NBA's scrap heap, the Wizards.

Awkward is what he looks like, indeed. Let's see how he evolves.

We get way too passive on offense at times, we need a gunner type.

And I've been happy to see him attacking the rim.  Not like he's just jacking threes out there.

Now I just hope his defense improves.  I like what he's doing out there.  He can pass a bit (made a nice toss in to KG last night) and he's actually a good rebounder for a guard.

I read that and thought, that's who Crawford is!

Then I read the thread name.

He seems like the type to fill up the stat sheet. This is good, we need it off the bench. I'm hoping he'll get a little better feel about where his shots are as the season progresses.

I don't think his defense will improve much, he's trying hard, but the foot speed and anticipation just isn't there. But again, for his role trying hard is enough for me.

If he turns out to be an Eddie House type on defense, and a Nate Robinson type on offense, I think we got a bargain. In any case, I don't think we could have gone wrong with getting this guy for, pretty much, half a season of Jason Collins. The numbers game at guard next season will be interesting, we have five guys (Rondo, Bradley, Lee, Terry, and Crawford) that all appear to deserve rotation minutes. And that's before considering Williams at all.

Yeah that rotation is crammed but Williams and Crawford are both tradable assets or guys that could step in and play if someone else is going to be moved.  So there's nice flexibility there.

And we know the team has a good relationship with Barbosa.  If he recovers well he could be back in green too.  So we have options.

Crawford may be tradeable, though I see more value in keeping it. I don't think Williams has any trade value (especially if he doesn't play).

I find it way more likely to see a trade with one of the bigger names (Lee or Terry) -- though I'd like to keep Lee, and I suspect the team would like to keep Terry because of his track record of making big shots.

I'm not even saying trade value too much in themselves but contracts like that can help you make deals.  That's the kind of parts that helped us get Lee this year for example.

Depends on how the salary cap comes to next year. If we're too close to it, we'd be better off salary dumping Crawford or using him in a sign-and-trade (during which we have more outgoing salary) and make a play for a full MLE type of player while still retaining enough space to fill out the rest of the roster.

Crawford seems to have a knack for taking shots that should be 20% but somehow making them 40%, and shots that should be 60% but somehow making them 40% too.

He's valuable to us because of our struggles scoring this year, particularly off the bench.  We're a lot more dangerous with a microwave type coming in.  We have JET to help with that, but he can't bring it all the time anymore.  Crawford's not a guy you can depend on every night either, but when he's doing well he's a big asset, and when he's playing poorly we'll hopefully just bench him for the night.

I agree that its more likely to be Lee or Terry that get talked about as potential trade bait (although Crawford could be a nice kicker in a larger deal given his talent and contract).

I think Lee is a better fit for this team given his versatility. Terry worked best out of the pick and roll with the Mavs and we don't have the size to pair him with to make that work. Teams will be interested in his crunch time clutch shot ability and his contract will be more appealing with only 2 years left rather than 3.

I like the idea that we will get a chance to run out Bradley, Terry, Lee, Crawford (and Williams if he sticks) for a while next year before Rondo gets back. It should give them each a chance to show their stuff before one is probably moved around the deadline after Rondo's return.

So maybe its just me and a few others out there.  It looks like majority like what they see.  I guess we will see.  I just feel the things I dislike can not be fixed with time.  I do not like this Herky Jerky stuff in his game, and I dont see that changing.  If your going to the whole take it strong.  Not this go into the lane jump, fake to the right, fake to the left, fake 360, no look, point to the crowd, say hi to mom,  hope for contact, throw it at the rim, that Im seeing.

But like I said We Will See.  I will try to stay positive like the rest of you.
