Ironically, I thinks its realistic that Sully would be ready by mid May though he wouldn't be if he had a fusion. Otherwise he would be ready. 4 months on a low back surgery should be enough. If we get a surprise like that Id expect we see him by late March and the rumors start

So would we want Sully in the playoffs at say, 70%?

I don't want him to come back at all this year. He's too young and has too much potential to mess with rushing him back.

Not worth the risk.

Not gonna lie, if the Celtics made the Finals, I wouldn't mind him playing 5 min a game

The plan would probably be 5 minutes a game, Doc would end up playing him 30+ minutes.

If they made it to the Finals then the last thing you'd want to do is screw with whatever got them to that point. Seeing how it's almost impossible that they make it.

Oops, sorry.

I could've sworn I saw people in this forum suggesting that, which is why I brought this up -.-

I, for one, wouldn't want him to reinjure himself, ruining the rest of his career. How bad is an ACL injury after 3 months? (I've never had one, so I'd like some perspective)
If you decided to give those suggestions any weight whatsoever, Rondo would've came back and played on the tear, then gotten his knee repaired in the offseason.  Once he had surgery this scenario immediately became impossible.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Ah. I'm wondering, what is he actually capable of doing right now? Can he even walk?

Not a clue (I'd guess so) but I'm sure he's still months away from being medically cleared for contact.

Being ready for the start of training camp is already an aggressive recovery timeline.  I'm sure he'll be on the bench or right behind it for the home games of the playoffs, but there's no reason to potentially ruin his career.

Oh yeah, I dont want it to turn into a Jameer Nelson/ Stan Van Gundy situation

I feel if you can walk, he can play ;D stand at the top of the key and just pass it around. Kidding... If he can run though, maybe I'd try him but only in ECF and later

Totally agree. Knowing Doc, he'll see 3 100% healthy guards  on the bench, and chose to play an injured Rondo 30+ minutes

That was more Van Gundy's fault..
I don't think Rondo is even close to considering a return this season..
