I want him to work for the C's, honestly.

Yep!
I think a Doc and Collins partnership would be great. Collins is a great coach and Doc is great at getting players to play for him.

They're good friends to, and both are old school type coach's. Let Collins handle the rotations and minutes, and maybe even defensive schemes, and Doc can handle the players and the quick time out plays.

Can't really blame the coach when they traded Iguodala for Bynum, who isn't even going to play most likely this season. They let Lou Williams go to Atlana, and didn't resign Elton Brand. Oh and you lose Vucevic in the Iguodala trade as well, and he looks like he's going to turn into a solid player.

Unless Collins personally asked for his GM to clear all those players out, then that blame falls on management.

His 76ers also went into a complete tailspin last year too, this year's sucking has pretty much been an extension of it.

I don't think Doug Collins has done a good job, neither has the GM but at least I understand what the GM was trying to do.

Collins has to be the most overrated coach in the league. There's a reason he has worn out his welcome everywhere he went.

And this season is mostly on his shoulders. He was the one that dictated the personnel changes to the management; he got the players he specifically asked for. Obviously Bynum being out is outside of his control, but that doesn't change the fact that he has done a terrible job managing what little talent that team still has.

He was terrible in Washington. Philadelphia has gotten progressively worse each season that he has been in charge. Ditto with Detroit.

Seriously, why are people so high on him? The only real success he ever had as a coach was when he was coaching young Jordan and Pippen ... and even then he was still run out of town. What has he ever done to prove he can be a great NBA coach? He has systematically alienated either talent or management (if not both) at every stop he's made.

Ignorant, as he's one of the best coaches in the game and out coached doc rivers in the playoffs last year...we possibly lose the series on our home court if it wasn't for....Rondo 3s...yep rondo 3s.

That and the leading candidate is Michael curry? Lol. One of the worst coaches I've seen in the last 10 years when he got a shot as hc of the pistons.

Maybe he's stepping down because I can't believe they'd be that dumb.
Well he diddnt out coach doc, cause who ever out coached the other coach won the series- Doc. That was what that series was all about and thats why it went back and forth so much.

If we dislike Doc's management of rotation, we'd flip our collective lid at Collins' arbitrary doghouse style of coaching.

Doug is very good coach,  long as the players are on board,  dumped too many good players for Bynum ,  team has lost faith in the program.

Rather have Doc as head coach , more players respect him, and Collins sitting beside him as assistant coach.

Doc has presence......he can screw up and players still love him.........rare trait

Sixers brass is now hoping that Doug Collins elects to step down as head coach at the end of this season, leaving one year and $4.5 million remaining on his contract on the table.

Too cheap to eat the one year remaining on his deal. Wow.

The reason why Collins will be gone is because the Sixers handed him a terrible situation: the two pillars of their franchise, Iguodala and Brand (sorry, Jrue, you're not there yet) were traded away for a guy who didn't play a single game. That's going to lead to at least a couple of problems.

Imagine if Jrue Holiday hadn't improved this year. The 76ers would be hanging out with the likes of the Magic and the Bobcats. It's a miracle that he's gotten them to a 9 seed.

I agree with everyone who says we should try to nab him as an asst. coach or just in some capability. The man knows what he's doing, and is a good fit with Doc.

Based on this poll, I doubt that is a popular opinion.
