What are you people smoking? There has been more than a few people on these boards who have been blaming Doc for Darko wanting to leave and also not playing Collins. Can you see why now? these guys are total stiffs, 3rd string centers at best. There's no way Collins should be seeing anything other than garbage time minutes.

We badly need a big man/enforcer so Rondo doesn't have to take on 7 footers . ;)

After last night performance by Collins i'd rather see melo out there. That was pathetic. Seriously, this guy was brought in to slow down Centers like Brook lopez?

I thought Collins played well in his few minutes last night. He made some good hustle plays and knocked a couple guys around. Hes not going to score points and he isnt going to put stats on his sheet.

I want Doc to play big but with Darko not Collins. Unfortunately that is no longer an option. So until we get a legit big then Wilcox should be the only other guy playing center. Since he was sick Im ok with Collins getting a few minutes.

yup..its a catch 22 ... C's look bad bad without them, and look worse with them in the game. LoL   :( C's are lacking a "quality" center,  KG can't be everything all the time, Wilcox does good for his size and salary .  Celtics are getting destroyed inside everygame.

Even though I KEEP HEARING all this talk about quick guards this and that ... still looks like to me the teams with Marc Gasols & Lopezs are dominate.

Celtics are flat out , being out muscled under the boards. And pushed around like rag dolls. Sully is giving up 4-5 inchs to most of the centers .  ANd thats just too much height to overcome.

The NETS bigs once again were ruffing up our players , Rondo took exception . Evan and Humphies are bruts and their coach doesn't like to practice Lopez with them becasue he gets hurt. SO you know how they are gonna beat up on KG and the C's.

Fab Melo is about the only potiental help I see , the better teams all have stocked up on huge bruiser players ,  and DOC doesn't even give Darko a chance.  ???

The other teams are shooting 50 cal guns and we are throwing back spitballs.

Chris Andersen !!!

What about him?
He could be the opposite sort to Wilcox, mobile defnesive backup C type instead of offensive presence.

Though given how he's still available I wonder how much his legal trouble is scaring everyone away.

good shot blocker, but still not the enforcer or rebounder we need underneath . We need gortat badly or someone at least as good as him .

Gortat, although it will be so hard to get him.

I don't think we need an enforcer. It would be nice to have but I don't think it is necessary. We just need someone who can maintain the team's integrity in terms of defense and rebounding while Garnett takes a breather.

I think Andersen with his shot-blocking, active team defense and rebounding offers that.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I disagree with Darko.

He looked good in the pre season. He's more than a stiff. And even if he is, he can't give him 10 minutes to be a shot blocking presence? You can say anything you want about Darko, but he CAN block shots. Doc couldn't give him at least a consistent 10 minutes? Darko leaving was on Doc. I love Doc, but that's on him.

What we need is 7 foot man Gortats size to stand in the middle  and control the paint.  When GOrtat puts a BIG elbow in Lopez, Evans or Humpfies throat a few times they will respect the painted area.

Right now , teams with HUGE thugs and BIG centers are running running over the Celtics like bulldozers in a china shop.

Sorry Doc you are screwing up the Boston Celtics .  The experiment is OVER dude , it an't working  ::) ???

I agree with this thinking. And for the record he would have been perfect for that game last night. He would have taken pleasure in sending Humphries or Evans a message. I don't think ill ever understand Docs rotations and substitution patterns. He's great at X's and O's. Great at motivating. And a great leader. But where i see his biggest weakness is in how he utilizes his bench and minutes given to players.

I put more blame on Ainge and the NBA system for the lack of big man talent.

Doc has to roll with the best he got.
