Allen gave us all the big middle finger with a lot of thrust behind it.
All this garbage he is spewing is self-rationalization and spin to try to make himself not look petty, spiteful and vindictive both to the public and himself. He might be fooling himself but I am not sure how many others are being fooled.
Huh? What has he said about the fans?
He took it personally that the C's tried to trade him, gave someone else "his" starting spot, and didn't make him the top priority to resign. Understandable, he has always had a huge ego (it is part of what made him great).
But he has always been great to the fans.
Really? Is this where we're going? The ole "he hasn't done anything to me personally" line? Sorry Charlie. You mess with one of us, you mess with the whole family!!! And you should know better. You disrespect the franchise, you you lose the fans. That's it.
TP....my sentiments exactly....hard to see how others don't get this
Well, he didn't lose ALL the fans:

PLEASE be careful of classifying ALL Boston Fans as Ray Allen haters.
He cant do that anymore...
But he did it when it mattered...
And the result was an improbable Game 4 win on the road.
Ray Allen stepped up.
We lost THAT game, and the series is 2-2. We went on to lose Game 5, anyway - once Perk got hurt.
BOS won 66 games that yr, and won Banner 17, but we were VERY close to losing some key games..
Glad that Ray pulled us out in THIS one - perhaps the most important one.
If "diehard fandom", whatever, causes some/most of us to hate Ray Allen, then I guess, from their perspective - it's ok.
It is Celticsblog.
But for me(and I suspect a few others), I'll never forget his contributions to this team.
