But my concerns are, when Bradley is fully back. How are we going to allocate minutes between Jet, Lee, Bradley and Barbosa?
Barbosa sits on the bench, and waves around a towel.

I solve problems.
Problem solved.

Has there ever been a faster trio of players on one team than Rondo, Bradley and Barbosa? I'd love to see that foot race.

Another undersized 2 guard that can dribble some but really isn't a PG?

Don't we already have Jason Terry and Avery Bradley to fill that role?
Jet needs to be shooting and getting the ball not handling it

AB is gonna get traded. Danny won't pay him, lee, and Terry all 5+ million with rondo making 11 mill. Avery can get an extension soon. I really like him, but DA might be ready to sell high here. Especially if it's bringing a prime time contributor ala Josh smith.

As others have noted, this is a great move for the Celtics, but a terrible move for Barbosa.  If I was his agent, this is not what I would've recommended.

Quite frankly, there aren't enough minutes for Rondo, Terry, Lee, and Bradley once all four are healthy.  There truly are less than zero minutes for Barbosa.

Still, given that injuries will occur, this is a phenomenal move for the C's.  Is he less of a pure PG than some guys out there?  Sure.  But he's way more talented.  And that makes a huge difference.

This might be the last chance for Barbosa to be on a team that has a shot at a championship. perhaps money and playing time are less important to him now than getting a ring. If that is the case, I think it a tremendous move.

What?

Bradley is under his rookie contract for 2 more years at a total of $4.1 million. We then own his rights for another year by offering a qualifying offer of just $3.5 million or can offer him an extension or match any contract he gets offered as he is a restricted free agent.

How is he due for an extension soon?

Love this move! The C's have a talented surplus of guards. Any combination of Rondo, Lee, Bradley, Jet, Barbosa, Pierce, or Green can work as long as either KG or Darko is on the floor. Small ball is nice, but you have to have rim protection.  This has been shown throughout the preseason

I get that to an extent, but Barbosa is only 29 (30 in a month).  This certainly isn't his last hurrah.

I also question how much a ring is worth if you don't really contribute. I get the idea of a player like Posey, Brown, Pietrus, or even Lee (if you believe him) taking less money to be a role player on a title team.  However, depending on the matchups in the playoffs (particularly against bigger team), it's possible Barbosa could be in street clothes.

Rondo/Terry
Bradley/Lee
Pierce/Green
Sullinger/Bass/Wilcox
KG/Darko/Collins

Again, that's not a problem for us.  That's phenomenal for the C's to have such depth.  The season is long and he'll likely fill a need for us along the way (particularly now with Bradley out).  Furthermore, if he does well, it gives us more flexibility to trade Bradley or Lee later in the season.

However, from an agent's perspective, I would've recommended he sign somewhere else for a minimum deal where he could be part of the rotation and drive up his value for next season.

That is insane - Barbosa agreeing to come here given the already packed backcourt.

Amazing signing.

Do you think Dooling can teach this to Barbosa?
