Holy cow - this would be great if true.  Best of a weak guard crop that's still out there.  Not a great playmaker, but more scoring off the bench.
He can fill it  up and seen him run the point decently, out of everybody out there he's the best by available love this move.

He lit up Miami in last years playoffs a game or two when with the Pacers. He's a Heat killer already.  :P

Great move! He's exactly who I said we needed, but was scoffed at. Ainge and Doc aren't looking for a true 1, instead they're looking for a combo guard who can share ballhandling duties with Jet. Plus, our goal was to add guys who can create offense. Not only did we do it, but we now have another player that can excel in the uptempo game.

Hm.

Didn't Indiana and their entire fanbase end up hating this guy? Called him a selfish chucker who killed their offense and ruined their chemistry, from what I remember.

Hm.

Better talent than Dooling though, I guess.

I think that's unfair to Barbosa. He's always seemed to me to be a player that the less you play him, the more effective he is if that makes sense. Indiana gave him too many minutes which allowed his warts to show. I think especially when Bradley comes back, he'll be able to carves a 10-15 min a game niche with this team and flourish.

and also, I saw in another post, Leandro is Brazilian so he can help develop Melo, which is another great investment long term.

If he'd be happy with that. I don't know anything about his personality or playing time wishes, but if he's content with that its not an awful signing and is a upgrade to Dooling.

And I'm just so thankful it's not Jamar Smith with that roster spot.

Love, love, love this ... man, did I need some good news today! One of my three favorite non-Celtic players for a long time, (one of the others was Jet) ... sweet.

Another undersized 2 guard that can dribble some but really isn't a PG?

Don't we already have Jason Terry and Avery Bradley to fill that role?

I also do believe Doc was taking highly of him during a halftime show at the Olympics.

Guys, just a few minutes ago we were thinking about Derek Fisher or Jonny Flynn coming to the team. We just got someone who is 10X better than both of those two combined. I seriously can't believe Barbosa signed with us of all teams. Considering the Lakers could have seriously used him off their bench, I couldn't be happier he's here instead of with an enemy.

I don't think people scoffed at the idea because it was bad, but rather because it seemed unrealistic that we would get him.

I really hope Leandro is content being an insurance policy. I don't want to see Bradley lose minutes to this guy, even though he's a great insurance policy at this time

Bradley will probably need time to adjust when he comes back from his injury. He probably will start 10-15 minutes before getting his 30/starting position back.

But my concerns are, when Bradley is fully back. How are we going to allocate minutes between Jet, Lee, Bradley and Barbosa?

Also, looks like we're gonna play a lot of small ball this year

Barbosa sits on the bench, and waves around a towel.

I solve problems.
