I know that it will be easy to root against Rasheed Wallace this year when the Knicks come around- he is, after all, a notorious provocateur (which is a nice way to say he's a goon). He'll only need a few minutes on the floor to get under the skin of Chris Wilcox or Darko Milcic.
But until then, I'm going to be rooting for him big time. His tenure in Boston was weird with a capital "W," but I enjoyed having another smart, skilled, defensive-minded, and little bit nasty nasty big man in the KG mold. Who knows what kind of shape Sheed is going to be able to get himself into at age 38 after a recent history of conditioning problems. I love comeback stories, though, and as I get older I increasingly love to see old men work their way back on the court and show value against the ultra-athletic kids.
What about you guys? Will you be happy to see Wallace on the court again?
