Well the title says it all, so here you go;

Ray Allen, on Garnett saying he lost Allen's number, "That's a shame. I'm a good person to talk to on the phone."

And;

“Even if I was still there, I probably wouldn’t talk to him much over the summer,'' Allen said. "We’re friends regardless of what happened. I’m on another team. I think that’s the focus right for me being here. He’s got to do what he’s got to do up in Boston. So I’m not worried about it.

“I don’t know,’’ Allen said. “That’s a question you have to ask him. I’ve been around long enough to know that when you speak, sometimes what you say, I don’t know how many miles apart we are, sometimes the translation gets mixed up.’

I was in favor of Rondo for CP3 (still am), and liked Rondo for Steph Curry (if that was even a legit rumor). But I would have personally went to Boston to kick DA in the face if he traded Pierce for that garbage platter he supposedly wanted from the Nets. To this day I refuse to believe that rumor was true.

The Boston Herald reported that Boston also has offered to include a no-trade clause in Allen's contract, something the Heat cannot offer.

Perhaps it's semantics, but here's what the Herald actually reported:

Allen told the Herald months ago that he didn’t want to have to sweat out another trade deadline after nearly being moved in the past, and word is the Celts are ready to comply with either a no-trade clause or a trade kicker that would get him a good sized raise in salary if he does get moved.

In other words, there was an unsourced rumor that the Celtics were "ready" to offer "either" a no-trade clause or a trade kicker.  There's no solid report that they offered either, or that Ray ever turned it down.

I agree.  Not sure how many of the rumors he caught, and how many Danny told him were real, but some of them were extremely weird and seemed like we talking less value for him than he was worth.  I personally would definitely feel disrespected, even if my years left in the league were likewise limited (we were a win-now team anyway).

Ray was in a good situation with solid healthcare for his son, he was probably scared of getting shipped to Minnesota or something.  If he feels more secure golfing in Miami and hanging on the beach when he's not working, more power to him.

At 8:06 Wyc says Danny knew a no-trade clause was okay with him. He didn’t think it was a huge issue. Ray would have stayed for more money than offered, an amount that would have hurt the team.

It is pretty clear to me that Benedict's goal was to publicly disrespect the Celtics as payback for his feeling disrespected by them because he was almost traded and was supplanted by Bradley as the starter.

Seems pretty petty, small and classless. "Ray Allen" and "class" and "Celtic" should never be mentioned in the same sentance again.

It is long past time to put to bed the notion that a no-trade was off the table in Allen negotiations. Wyc has admitted to being open to it, and we know that Ainge is not allergic to them in principle, since KG got one.
