Dooling's absence opens the door for one or more of their young players to make the roster during training camp and team president Danny Ainge said the team isn't looking to bring in another veteran. "We probably won’t bring anyone else in," Ainge said. "We like our young guys. We like Kris Joseph and Dionte Christmas and Jamar Smith and they’ll be competing for that last spot."
Kris-Jo? Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Can we make a push for KuJo, instead? Provided he makes the team, of course.
translation; there is no one out there good enough. This is temporary until we can trade or a good enough one shakes out of a team.

Pretty much what they have done over and over in Ainge's tenure. Let the young guys get a shot early in the season, and then cut them loose to replace with veterans down the stretch.
Odd that Ainge says "the last spot" when we've got two available. Doesn't mean much...or does it? *ominous orchestral music*

Fun to speculate, but most likely it just means there is one more spot for a guard left. Even if we have three roster spots he is only going to keep one more guard. I think it very likely that we fill all 15 spots to start but cut one by mid December.I also wouldnt be surprised to see us in the hunt for another long athletic wing or combo forward. Someone who has been around but has plenty left in the tank. A Tayshaun Prince type player to add later is what I am trying to say.
