Why do we have a gridlock at the 5?

KG
Wilcox
Collins
Melo
Darko
occasionally Sullinger

Well, I don't think Melo enters into the equation now, he is a long-term work in progress (as he should be).  And Collins will be a spot player, only against very few matchups.

So that leaves KG, Wilcox, Darko, and occasionally Sullinger.

I'd say this signing pretty much confirms that we're going with KG's wishes and NOT playing him at center, at least for the regular season.

That is something I hadn't even considered. Wow I hope that's not legit.

Our two best big men right now are still KG and Bass, and maybe before long KG and Sully.  Our fourth-best big man is probably Jeff Green.  I think KG still plays a lot at the 5, just because that's the best way to get our best players on the floor at the same time.

With the minimum @ $854,389 I would have paid him that just to not play for Miami. Giving them a defensive big just makes our lives harder.

I'm loving this signing. New roster vs Miami:

PG: Sully
SG: Bass
SF: Wilcox
PF: KG
C: Darko

6th man: Melo

LETS MAKE A FOREST!

One year for the minimum.  Thank you, I will take that flyer.

If he doesn't work out, send him packing.  But at the very least, he will be an insurance policy who can block some shots.
Sure, that's great. If we could roster 20 people, that is.

Huh?  By sending him packing, I mean you would be cutting him...as in he is no longer on the roster.

If he comes into camp and actually does well, then we have a very valuable commodity at a bargain price.  If he stinks, and/or is unmotivated, then you just cut him.

Ainge cockblocked Miami Heat again. First he did in the draft picking Fab Melo, and now this. Brilliant work DA.

This is actually good news, mostly because Bass is so mediocre as a starter.

We added another rim protector and large body to foul Lebron as he goes to the rim.  That's how to stop him (once or twice).

I remember when we had Shaq early in the season, and Lebron barreled to the rim...straight into Shaq, who stood with his hands up as Lebron got flattened to the floor.  He was shaken because he's usually bigger than the other guy, and isn't used to getting handled physically (though many teams try).

Darko and Collins can each give 6 fouls in 12 minutes of first half play...we finally have someone to back up JET and KG's mouths.

Seriously, though, we needed size inside.  I'm not sold on Bass.

Maybe Rondo can share some free throw shooting tips.

What do you mean huh? Or you think it's a good idea to add a seventh big when we're one injury away from not having a single guard taller than 6'3 or a backup SF? Because that's the cost of "taking that flyer".

Very good signing, he can really defend the 5. His offensive shortcomings will be lessened playing with Rondo.

Maybe I'm mistaken because I haven't seen him play in some time, but I thought he had a jumpshot.

Good signing.

Thank you! He can still get better!

Well, he's been a pro for 9 years.  I don't think his skills will improve any, but hopefully he'll be a good team defender under Doc's system.
