Rondo was on 106 and Park, visiting the show to talk about various topics. Interning to GQ, trip to China, etc.

http://www.isportstimes.com/articles/3345/20120912/boston-celtics-news-watch-rajon-rondo-ray-allen-video-that-guy.htm

The host brought up if Rondo still talks to Ray Allen
And Rondo responded with "Oh that guy"

Frankly I found that hilarious. But it seems like Rondo and Ray's relationship was some part of the reason on why Ray left to Miami

Ray's a whining punk. We have the best PG in the league who creates open shots for all his teammates and gets the best shot available a vast majority of the time. Yet Ray complains that he isn't getting enough touches when he runs our offense into the ground by waiting him to run aroud all the screens for 10-15 secs just to actually get a open shot. He can't create his own shot or shots for others yet he is jealous that Rondo is running the show.

Good Riddance

Can't wait to see Bradley,Terry and Lee being able to create their own shots and go to the hoop without the clock running all the way down, and they are still very good 3 point shooters .

Bye Bye Ray you clown ( I know I know he almost got traded so he was mad . Guess what, PP,KG and Rondo were all being talked about in possible trades all year)

and no Ray you will not always be a true Celtic like Ray said in his Miami Press conference , you're a front running punk trader .

Ray Allen is a legend.  He was huge for this team during their run.  Him going to Miami is a bummer, but we basically eliminated his role anyways.  Could be worse... he could have signed with the Lakers.

Eeeeh...NO! We did not. We gave him a more than fair offer (double what miami are gonna pay him) including a no trade clause and he asked for 3 times what hes getting and everybody knows he is not worth that much, thats in the range what KG is getting and KG does WAY much more for the Cs than ray does and always has.

Ray was sick of the Cs for other reasons than money obviously so he chose to stick it to us by taking less money and going to our conference rivals!

The fact that hes trying to get sympathy in the media from Cs fans, putting ads in papers and saying that hes a celtic yadda yadda yadda is just damage control!

I will always remember what he did for the Cs in years past but he is nothing to me now and hes not a celtic anymore!

lol...I just chalked this up to "Youthful Competitiveness."

Notice when Truth was interviewed during the summer, he had nothing but love for Ray.

Paul is 35 and a seasoned vet...he's been through the trenches......Rajon is what? 25? He's coming into his own...he's not seasoned, yet.

I know deep down inside Rajon is going to miss those 3-4 assists that Ray Allen provided him with the last few yrs. I certainly expected Rajon to say something like this, but I'm sure he'll hug Ray or something to that effect once we meet them next season....

...or maybe he won't, lol. It's all good - just adds to the rivalry, here. MIA had better get used to BOS anyway - this team is built to challenge them for the next 2-3 yrs.

He wont make those 3-4 assists up between Bradley, Lee, and Terry? Something tells me he's not gonna miss "That Guy" at all. In fact he might thrive even more because he wont have to dribble the ball into the ground waiting for Ray to open up. More options equals more assists.

Rondos historic assist streak was going on the second half of the season when ray was injured. The celts might miss ray but Rondo wont have a problem getting his assists at all

Ray gave us his years but now it's time to move on from him. His gameplay wasn't getting it done for us anymore. The celtics play their best when everybody is moving the ball. With ray in the offense the sets were taking way too long to get something going. And if he did get the ball after 10 seconds of screens he would usually be guarded because he lost a step.

Ray is a legend no doubt but JET is the better all around player and better fit for us RIGHT now. Can't wait to see the offense improve because of him. "that guy" won't be missed by me... (except the gun shot after every three pointer, I did like that)

Bill Russell is a legend. Larry Bird is a legend. That's a strong word to throw around when speaking of "That Guy". He can be a legend in your mind, but when arguably over half the fan base of the Boston Celtics wouldn't consider him much more than a gun for hire and journeyman then i don't think that word should be used to describe him. Maybe he's a legend in Seattle or Milwaukee but certainly not Boston. Good riddance. Enjoy the divos down there Ray Ray. Ya fit right in brotha.

Good points, CH3 and CelticsG1 - Rondo will probably make up for those assists.

But there is one area where I think the entire team could be hurting at -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlBCYTOxQ7M

Who in the world has Ice Cold Water in his veins....whom opposing teams absolutely fear...in the closing moments of a game?

None other than Walter Ray Allen.

I truly love our team going forward, and we do have some good options.

But when the game is close...when teams are doubling up on Paul or KG and playing ball denial with Rajon.....

Someone please tell me this:

Who will take that last shot for BOS?

I LOVE Jet already, and can't wait for him to take off on Oct 30.....but once again:

There is NO ONE as clutch as Ray Allen...he will go into the HOF early, and will go down as one of the best shooters, clutch performers, in the history of the game - right up there with Larry and Reggie.

And now MIA has him. He'll have to be accounted for at all times. BOS can certainly do it, but it will be a lot tougher.

I see your points GreenFaith. The thing i loved about the JET signing was the fact he's pretty clutch in his own right. I even seem to remember him burying some contested shots against us over the years in the closing minutes of games. Plus attitude is everything. The fact JET is clear about his role and place on the team is greatly underrated. Chemistry can't be seen in any stat but it greatly affects the outcome of games in my opinion. I'll take the guy who wants to be here and is clear about his role and place on the team 10 times out of 10 thank you.

Love Rondo here. "That guy" is a diva, upset about being traded, Rinfo running the show and "not being compensated" as much as the others even thought he has the worse production of the 4.

I hope when "that guy" comes to the Jungle, he gets guarded by Rondo and gets shut down.

CH3 - I hope you're right.

JET does have some clutch in him. Can't wait to see him in Green on Oct 30.

But there was just something about being down by a bucket or two, and seeing Ray Allen in the game..lurking.

You just KNEW that BOS had a chance...just because of Ray.

I hope that Jet, KG, Paul, Rajon - can step up and help us forget. But that is nearly impossible, unless Larry or Reggie are doing a time-warp into BOS.

I'm looking forward to 2012-13, though...but any close games we have will be very interesting.

The one guy we're both overlooking here is Courtney Lee. I admit i haven't seen enough of him to know how good he is in clutch situations or if he's even a threat in those final moments at all. Does anyone know? Any Rockets people here?

Iv'e heard he's money in the corners, but im not even sure if he ended games for Houston. In Celtics basketball culture it's always said it doesn't matter who starts the game but who finishes. That's been one of our sixth man principles over the years.
