He is probably one of the most underrated PF in the league right now if not the most. He is clutch, pretty good offensively, his defense can only get better in a system like ours. At 6'11, he is probably a perfect fit for the power forward position.

Additionally, the biggest factor is that he is in his prime right now. Do you guys think its reasonable for us to get him, maybe by the trade deadline as that "final piece?"

According to ESPN Trade Machine, Aldridge is listed at $14 million. Perhaps, by the trade deadline, we could trade Jeff Green ($9 million) and Courtney Lee ($5 million) for Aldridge.

I usually never am interested much in these trade ideas cause I am too attached with the players, but I feel this would just put use over the top. Sure it would compromise on the bench, but it would really make us better.

Starting Lineup:

PG: Rajon Rondo
SG: Avery Bradley
SF: Paul Pierce
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge
C: Kevin Garnett

Bench:

PG: Keyon Dooling/Jason Terry
SG: Jason Terry/Keyon Dooling
SF: Kris Joseph (We could get someone else in a trade)
PF: Brandon Bass/Jared Sullinger
C: Chris Wilcox/Jason Collins/Fab Melo

I know we can't trade newly signed free agents right now, but they will be eligible by the trade deadline.

Jeff Green will be eligible on January 15, 2013.
Courtney Lee will be eligible on December 15, 2012.

LaMarcus Aldridge is almost just like another Kevin Garnett.

Plus, the Trail Blazers are rebuilding and could be willing to trade Aldridge.
What do you guys think?

Do you guys think its possible to get LaMarcus Aldridge this season? If so, then could this trade go through? What other trades can you think of?

Portland would be laughing as they hung up the phone.

He might not get the national press but believe me, Portland knows exactly what they have in Aldridge.  They'll want an all-star coming back at a minimum and then some more thrown in.

Portland hangs up the phone right away.

It will take a lot to get Aldridge. Maybe it might include Rondo. He's clawing into superstar level, Green and Lee won't be enough.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Living in Oregon and watching Aldridge play, I'd say he is underrated to the league, but not to the Blazers.

Portland loves Aldridge so much. He's the team leader and at 27, is entering his peak years.

I see no easy way of acquiring Aldridge. They're set on building around LA and Lillard (which would be an amazing pick and roll duo to watch).

Jeff Green and Courtney Lee are not enough for the heart of a team.

Even Rondo + Jeff Green for Aldridge + Lillard would not be a sure deal.

That's because we wouldn't do that deal!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I meant theoretically from Portland's standpoint.

I'd hope Danny Ainge wouldn't even consider this.

Would rather see how Fab and Sully develop. These guys crash the boards in every chance they could get. Aldridge is a jump shooting big. Fab has better physical tools than Marcus. Fab is longer, has decent face up and turnaround jumpshot, runs the floor faster especially on the break, challenges shots on every opportunity and has better foot work. Though we need somebody to hone Fab's skills and properly utilize his physical tools. Sully has a back-on-the-board move which Aldridge seldom does.

The point and assist production of both Green and Lee would never be compensated on what Aldridge does on the floor. Though he could give more rebounds.

This is number one on the chances being slim and none list.

Like our team as is for now.   See how green and Lee works out.

Green, Bradley, Sullinger and future picks galore

I don't like this trade as much as I'd rather see how this team pans out
But it's more realistic IMO
Can't stop, Rondo!

LaMarcus Aldridge is almost just like another Kevin Garnett.

I have no idea what you mean when you say this. You mean being tall and skinny? You mean being tall, black, skinny and having a jump shot? That is probably as far as it goes. Furthermore I've had cups of coffee that meet most of those criteria.

KG is a 1st ballot HoFer and Aldridge is clawing his way into being an allstar. KG is the heart, soul and defense of a Championship caliber team and Aldridge is the "leader" of a team who went mutiny on Nate McMillan.

I agree LA is pretty good, I even agree he's allstar caliber. But to put him on KG's level is just laughable.

Oh and I would love to have him in green. I also see no way of doing it.
