He is probably one of the most underrated PF in the league right now if not the most. He is clutch, pretty good offensively, his defense can only get better in a system like ours. At 6'11, he is probably a perfect fit for the power forward position.
Additionally, the biggest factor is that he is in his prime right now. Do you guys think its reasonable for us to get him, maybe by the trade deadline as that "final piece?"
According to ESPN Trade Machine, Aldridge is listed at $14 million. Perhaps, by the trade deadline, we could trade Jeff Green ($9 million) and Courtney Lee ($5 million) for Aldridge.
I usually never am interested much in these trade ideas cause I am too attached with the players, but I feel this would just put use over the top. Sure it would compromise on the bench, but it would really make us better.
Starting Lineup:
PG: Rajon Rondo
SG: Avery Bradley
SF: Paul Pierce
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge
C: Kevin Garnett
Bench:
PG: Keyon Dooling/Jason Terry
SG: Jason Terry/Keyon Dooling
SF: Kris Joseph (We could get someone else in a trade)
PF: Brandon Bass/Jared Sullinger
C: Chris Wilcox/Jason Collins/Fab Melo
I know we can't trade newly signed free agents right now, but they will be eligible by the trade deadline.
Jeff Green will be eligible on January 15, 2013.
Courtney Lee will be eligible on December 15, 2012.
LaMarcus Aldridge is almost just like another Kevin Garnett.
Plus, the Trail Blazers are rebuilding and could be willing to trade Aldridge.
What do you guys think?
Do you guys think its possible to get LaMarcus Aldridge this season? If so, then could this trade go through? What other trades can you think of?
