Chalmers at the top end of the top 10? Wowzers.

My own guys better at the point than Chalmers:

Paul
Deron
Rondo
Nash
Parker
Westbrook
Lowry
Holiday
Irving
Curry
Rubio
Wall
Jack
Hill
Lawson
Dragic
Lin
Miller
Conley
Teague
Rose

I'd say Chalmers is somewhere in the 25-35 range if I had to guess. Right amount Delonte and Felton (because Felton is Fat until proven skinny).

He is a coat tail rider.  Won his championship through others.   Also, we had them beat until Stern called the refs.

You could technically say the same thing of Rondo in 2008...And we had them beat until Bosh came back.

The difference is he's about the age Rondo is now but he's playing the way Rondo was when he was 21 or so.

Oh don't get me wrong I am in no way putting Chalmers on Rondo's level.  It's just you could say anyone who isn't the primary star on a team is riding "coat-tails."

Yawn give me something better than Steve Nash.....what in his prime? Also sick of the same ole deron and Paul arguments..fine if that's your opinion but what have they done? Most overrated players in the league to me

Mario couldn't start for Kentucky........... he is a cheap scrub on team that can't afford a real point guard.  Three guys take up all their salary

Rather have E. Moore.
You mean the starting PG from a NCAA national champion, couldn't start on a college team, even though said PG in the last 4 years has been the starting PG on two teams to reach the NBA finals including one victory.  Give me a break.

Chalmers is not a top ten PG in the NBA, but he is far from a scrub.  I mean he went for 11/4/4 in the playoffs as at best his teams 4th or 5th option on offense.  That isn't the definition of a scrub.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Certainly not top-10. Good role player on a championship team though - nothing wrong with that.

Hmmm, Mario Chalmers doesn't think Rondo is the best PG in the game.

But future HOFs Jason Terry and Jason Kidd DO think he's the best.

Interesting...

There's only 2 other PG's in the league I'd choose to replace Rondo and they are Chris Paul and Derrick Rose. Given that qualification Rondo plays better defense than both so I'm not sure I'd prefer either. For mine, he's the most complete PG in the league.

As for Chalmers he's welcome to that opinion. It's certainly not inflammatory depending on how you rate PG's.

Also Magic Johnson.

Of course, if Mario Chalmers says Rondo isn't the best, it must mean the collective opinion those three (and more) is flawed.
