I read somewhere that ESPN did a poll of the most overpaid player in sports. 30% or so said LeBron, even though he's paid less than 10 or so NBA players. Shows how much he's hated.

I think that was underpaid. Most underpaid player.

Can't find the actual ranking, but here's an article.

Trivia: What NBA team had on its payroll during a single year four of the top 10 players in NBA history, in terms of total career earnings?

Gonna guess it was us in 2010-11.  Shaq, KG, Pierce, RayJO?

Kobe Bryant   L.A. Lakers   $27,849,149
Dirk Nowitzki   Dallas Mavericks   $20,907,128
Carmelo Anthony   New York Knicks   $20,463,024
Amar'e Stoudemire   New York Knicks   $19,948,799
Joe Johnson   Brooklyn Nets   $19,752,645
Dwight Howard   L.A. Lakers   $19,536,360
Pau Gasol   L.A. Lakers   $19,000,000
Chris Paul   LA Clippers   $17,779,458
Chris Bosh   Miami Heat   $17,545,000

All GREATLY overpaid if lebrinda makes as much as Bosh! His fault for making that team, but he deserves to be the highest paid, no question!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Lebron is grossly underpaid based on his NBA contract. Even if he had a max contract, which he doesn't, he would be underpaid.

But none of that matters since he still makes way more than anyone else due to endorsements. When you are the best player in the league, it is probably a better financial move to take less money to get more rings because that will pay off nicely in more endorsements.

Some of these guys are underpaid. Lebron's contract is irrelevant since his contract his not his market value by any means due to salary rules.

A player's value is based on the value he can add to a team's ability to make $. Unfortunately, that formula is tricky due to the differences in how much money teams can make in their markets. In a sense, larger markets should be able to get better players since the better player generates more revenue to the team/league in that market, and the better player also generates more extra-salary revenue for themselves in larger markets.

Correct team and year, but Pierce was not in the top 10.

Who's the fourth then?  Marbury was 08-09.
