Well let me rephrase, thank you for getting the team out of the big east, but the athletic department has been in shambles with the exception of hockey for the past 4 plus years.  Time for a very welcome change

Crappy timing but great news.

Hopefully, they find someone with BC roots who can steer the sinking ship that is currently BC Athletics (besides hockey which Gene never got his hands on) and fix things.

Still, its going to be an awful year for BC football and basketball, IMO.

I hear ya dons, I'm always an optimist when it comes to BC.  Probably so it makes my season tic seem like a better investment, but Im glad we can get the program headed in the right direction

Why'd he wait until 2 weeks before football season starts to do this?

If he was going to do it, it should've been done in the spring.

Coach Spaz is a dead man walking now.

I'm guessing because he was being forced out due to low season ticket renewals/donations.  Course I would have fired him after he signed off on the montel Harris smear campaign.

Thank god!
Spazz needs to win 10 games this year or his stupid mustache won't be our coach anymore. It's about time BeFilippo retired.

I think we beat Northwestern but lose to ND. I'd be very happy with that season. Especially if Rettig stepped up to take us to that many victories. Hopefully the recent injuries don't hurt too bad.

I think if Finich is hurt Kimble might be able to step up (Williams has the worst field vision I've ever seen out of an rb). Louis Jean and Pantale will be missed to start the year.

Supposedly the annual board of trustees meeting is next week.  GDF decided to control his own fate

I knew there was a pretty vocal group of older alums that have been against the guy for a while.

Sounds like he saw the writing on the wall. Once the results went south on the field/court, a lot of his moves became more indefensible.
