If JO couldn't walk all the more reason he could have stuck around on the bench in a pre-season game rather than heading to the locker room.

Root for the rookies like KG would rather than taking your droopy-drawers attitude to the showers.

Having Robert Sarver writing this loser checks is poetic justice.

I guess I am in a minority.  I thought, when he could play, Jermaine played well.  The problem was that he waa not fit to play very often, with one injury after another.  If medical treatments do work, I can see him being an effective backup, even at this stage in his career.

Im with you man, agree on all accounts. He still isn't that old just has a lot of NBA mileage. Just has been very unlucky with the injury bug. Dude can play, but he's always playing hurt.

See this is the exact reason I don't like JO. He has the skill and talent to be a good backup center. But he's lazy as hell and wants everything handed to him. I don't feel sorry for him, cause he talked all the talk about being ready to contribute to the Celtics. Then he came to training camp like 100 lbs overweight. And then wonders why his body breaks down when he does a simple sprint to the basket

I wonder how can you call someone who Doc labelled "Training Camp MVP" a lazy person?

The same coach who uses superlatives for making a good layup?

I don't think you can call anyone who has JO's resume a 'Lazy Person'. It takes a lot more than height and athleticism (which he loses exponentially every season) to stick around and be in demand as long as he has.

But I do think he could've prepared his body better and I know in my heart he could've attacked last season harder.

TP to anyone who can answer this question.

How many opening tip offs did JO win?

Really curious to find the number. If mememory serves me correct, he won the jump ball nearly every single time.

I looked, couldn't find it. I've seen them before at the more advanced stats sites and linked to by basketball blogs, but its like a special thing they do. Like compiling game winner % and stuff.

I remember that his block/game ratio was very good through his whole career, and was pretty good in the games he did play for the Celtics.  That is why Stiemsma's emergence as a shot blocker was seen with such relief.

Yeah JO's defense when healthy with the C's, with the Heat, with everyone but the Raptors, its been very good.

He's also got an annoying habit of overestimating his offense.

Yeah this statement makes no sense... 100 lbs overweight? Dude tried everything he could to get healthy... Did exactly that, then just got unlucky with the injury proneness.

As annoying basketball habits go, that seems to be a very common one.   ;)

Well it was an exaggeration. Thats why i said "like 100". So you're saying the shape that JO came to training camp in was ok? And that weight he had didn't contribute to the nagging injuries he suffered every other game?
