If JON plays in 60+ games at a level that is at least adequate for a back-up center, does it say more about him or about the relative quality of the Phoenix vs Boston medical staffs?
Good question, but to hear about him not being able to play because of his wrist ::), makes me think back to rondo coming out and playing after dislocating his elbow, or paul and ray both playing through painful injuries. I believe, its just about how bad you want it.

Real GM Suns board is convinced this guy is gonna  be big for them and surprise everyone next season... poor saps. I'll give them one thing. If he does well for them next season, I'll be pretty angry/very impressed with that infamous medical staff

Do you really care? Good riddance! Even the almighty Phoenix training staff is going to have their hands full with JO.
This. Waste of money and pine space ... adios! (Suns trainer now on high alert and expecting a bump in pay).

He'll probably be on some idiot GM's roster for 3-4 more years...But he won't play in 60 games combined over that time.

May he finally get all the shot attempts that he doesn't deserve.

Least favorite Celtic of the past era. What a dissapointment. Talked the talk but never walked the walk.

Because he couldn't walk. I still hate all the crap JO received while he was here. Can't prevent injuries. When he played his defense was great. I think he made a wise choice and the staff in Phoenix will most likely allow him to stay on the floor for some role minutes this year. Can't really fault the injured guy for going to the team with the best training staff for one more run. He's only what, 33? Maybe they can get another grant hill out of JO.

From hoopshype this morning:

Jermaine O Neal:
Body is really responding in a major way. Haven't been able to do dead lifts in 6 years because of the knee!

I won't miss his but I won't be rooting against him and wish his career recovery the best. Feel bad for the dude.

I may be mistaken, but didn't he do the Kobe/Brandon Roy regenokine knee treatment? With that, and the Phoenix medical staff in mind, I would not be surprised if he had an efficient season.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Do they do regenokine heart transplants?

Phoenix has the best medical staff and JO is going to have all the minutes he wants if he's healthy. It's a perfect fit for him. Best of luck, JO

 ??? ??? ???

I thought the perfect situation for JO was being in Boston? Sit on your ass for two years, collect $12M.  What could be better than that?

Well I can't speak for JO, but if I was a professional athlete, I wouldn't be playing for the money.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

He's such a wasteful player, on the court and financially for the Celtics

Only thing good about him was he shared Doc and Pierce's birthday

why is this guy still in the league?

Because he is tall.

I guess I am in a minority.  I thought, when he could play, Jermaine played well.  The problem was that he waa not fit to play very often, with one injury after another.  If medical treatments do work, I can see him being an effective backup, even at this stage in his career.

Phoenix is known as having an amazing climate a staff for rejuvenating old big men (like Shaq); but Oneal is too much of a head case. Yes he may have legitimate injuries; but he certainly is no Bret Favre - in fact he seems to be the opposite.

Im with you man, agree on all accounts. He still isn't that old just has a lot of NBA mileage. Just has been very unlucky with the injury bug. Dude can play, but he's always playing hurt.
