I'd be more than shocked if Melo could get up to speed that quickly. Perk had four NBA seasons and 200+ games experience when he started for the first time alongside KG.
If Melo can get ready that quickly, it will be a miracle, and the Cs would be much better. I'm not holding my breath. I'll settle for 6 minutes of competent inside play each half as a steady rotation guy from Melo.
Now, if you want to make the argument that if Melo is going to play 12 mpg, it might as well be as a starter for the 1st and 3rd quarters alongside KG, I can see that.
