We need a big.  He knows our system and plays hard. You cant get a better pickup for the vet minimum. Gives us experienced depth in the frontcourt.

You can get so many better pickups for the vet minimum.

We already got Wilcox and Collins, both better. Chris Andersen is apparently also available for the vet min.

I'd rather leave our last roster spot open than tie ourselves down with Scal. If he wants to coach on the other hand, I'd have no problem with that.

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
We need a big.
We don't.

I agree.  We should look for a wing that can shoot and defend.  Pietrus would be great, but he wants more than we can give.  I like our guard rotation, but if there's a big man out there that we really like, I'd have no problem getting him.

This, or more likely a perimeter player who can play both the 2 and the 3 position, and is better than Christmas. Probably not available right now on the market, so might as well stick with the kid.

Again, we cannot go into the season with just 1 guard taller than 6'3.

My view is that this season we are not in a position to fill out roster spots 12-15 with over the hill veterans -- but should keep 3 project players who can contribute in a pinch, and hope that some of them develops as a legitimate rotation player over the next couple of years.

Nah not as a coach as a player. There was a article this morning on realgm about Scal still wanting to play.  He knows the defense. knows the playbook and he can shoot from outside. A great signing for the last roster spot at the minimum.

Doc doesnt play Rookies. He has said many times they have to earn it. So we have Kg.Bass.Wilcox.Collins. We are a injury away from being undermanned. Scal knows the team.

Scal has no value to this team.

When the team wants a perimeter defending PF, they are going to Jeff Green. With Bass, Wilcox and Sullinger also getting minutes at PF ... there is just no role for Scalabrine to fill on the court.

I am hoping that someone else will pick Scal up though. Still a useful player.

As a 15 guy he is a perfect. He doesnt need minutes but could come in if needed and execute the gameplan. Why because he knows the playbook and he is available at the minimum. We could not do better with the last spot.

What Scal needs is a broadcasting job with CSNNE. Guy knows what he is talking about.
Offense sells tickets, Defense wins games, Rebounds win championships.

This will lead to more conspiracy theories about how big market teams get all the superstars…
