sounds like he's got a good mindset going into the season. i like that he respects older players, mentioning hackeen nd TD. Seems like he's going to fit in well and definitely relish every teaching moment KG has to offer. Hopefully he sees some floor time this year and makes significant improvements.

His coaches probably wish he'd model his game on *both* ends of the court after Hakeem.

Fab should immediately, either this year or next, make that pilgrimage to Houston.

It's time that everyone in the league, learn from the master!

I just hope he comes into camp with 2 go-to moves well refined.

He's tall and athletic enough that he'll be able to get his shot off against most other bigs.

Wish Clifford Ray was around.

I thought this was Carmelo Anthony ... and I was wondering what he was on about.

I also made the same mistake until I read the thread for maybe the third time.

I really hope he makes the rotation.

If KG misses a few games, Melo is the only shot blocker on the team.

Count me in the "wrong Melo" camp as well.

Going to have to take some getting used to.

still love this pick, he's exactly what we needed.
come playoff time, predicting he'll be our first big off the bench.

BTW- I think the Perk comparison is off base, they have completely different game.  A better comparison is Serge Ibaka as they both hang their hats on shot blocking and offensively look for the elbow jumper.

Fab is going to be legit.

yeah, if the rumor of PP going this summer is true, he should pay for Melo to go as well (Melo couldn't afford it most likely) that way the learning curve is greater this year, and can help by the end of the season.

No way will he be as good, but he has said he models his game after Olajuwon and Duncan, those are great guys to model your game after. I see more Duncan in him the way he moves, kinda smooth but not springy. Olajuwon moves more like a shooting guard on offense, Melo is athletic, but not like that. But on D he can block like Olajuwon. Two great guys that if Melo can get half as good on offense as Duncan and Half as good on Defense as Olajuwon, that would be a heck of a 22nd pick.

Shoot I'd take 1/4th as good as each!

Sorry about that guys.

Unfortunately, I think this mistake will be made quite often from now on.

I keep them straight in casual conversation by referring to that guy on the Knicks as "Marshmelo".
