Sorry about that guys.

Unfortunately, I think this mistake will be made quite often from now on.
I keep them straight in casual conversation by referring to that guy on the Knicks as "Marshmelo".

And call Melo the Fab 5 (as in center)? That might have its own set of complications though.

I'll take a poor man Hakeem any day. If he can do anywhere near 50% of what Hakeem does, then man, he will be the steal

Or maybe "Melo in the Middle". But you can't come up with names for rookies until you see what they can do.

We'll just have to wait!

The snitchster already knows more about basketball than Olajuwon....Just ask him.

Fab Melo probably won't make enough money to do the $100,000 a week tutoring at Olajuwon school.

Love it. If he could be half, hell, if he could be a quarter the player the dream was I'd be more than pleased.

we need humility in our rookies. Fab should not be comparing anything he does to the greatest in and out player that ever played the game. Sheesh

I don't think he's comparing anything to anything. I believe the question was who he admired. I am really glad that we have a Brazilian on the team. As a Brazilian coming to America without speaking English, I understand coming into a different country without speaking the language. He even speaks like I used to 12 years ago. Also, his favorite soccer team is mine as well, FLAMENGO!
Baby Jesus!

cool.  I modeled my game after Larry Bird.  I suck at basketball, though.

Good for Fab.. I think he just has the stories mixed up.. They both played soccer, and then went to the NBA for only playing for a short time. But hey I like Fab and hope the best for him.

Ha ha! I was afflicted with a similar complaint!!
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Let's hope he troughs in a little Kevin McHale. He needs to learn how make a living in the paint!

TP

The question was "which NBA player have you modeled your game after, if anybody". I don't get why people are giving him crap.

He seems like a nice guy. And he likes soccer so maybe he would connect with KG better?

Geez some people will look for any reason to bag on Fab.

I'll bet if Sully said "I emulate Tim Duncan", everyone would say, "See he's the steal of the draft!! He's a phenom!! Rookie of the year!!"
