According to Woj, the Lakers will be running the Princeton offense next year and have hired Eddie Jordan to do so.

PGs have thrived in the offense in the past but the last time I remember it being run on the 76ers it didn't work.  I know this is a much more talented roster though, so it'll be interesting to watch.

To me it seems you'd want the ball in Nash's hands as much as possible but I'm sure Gasol will thrive in the offense and the offense will be more balanced overall.

I'd be shocked if that doesn't break down into Nash doing what he does (P&Rs and dribble probes) and what Kobe does (shoot!) pretty quickly.

I agree.  The reads and cuts are similar to the triangle but it seems like Gasol and Bynum would handle the ball more than you'd want.  I figured they'd just run a lot of pick and roll with Nash (and I'm not sure how Kobe would fit into that with his need for shots... part of the problem).

It'll be more interesting to see what defense they run since they'll essentially be playing their 4 against the other team's 5 whenever los Nash is on the court.

It'll also be interesting to see how long it takes for a meltdown from los Nash's complete disregard for defense.

Los Nash?

Like Darth Vader.

A character you hate turns out to be something awesome...in this case vice versa.

They dealt with Derek Fisher and Ramon Sessions they can deal with Nash.

Fisher at least pretended and hustled a little defensively and Sessions wasn't bad at all.

The most aggressive thing los Nash does on the defensive end is brush his hair out of his face. Actually, that's pretty much the only thing he does defensively.

Perhaps (and this is complete speculation) not having to be the complete offensive focal point for his team will allow him to use more energy on defense.  I doubt he'll be very good at it, but a little more effort might help compensate.

I just read the article. Kobe is just trying to ensure that everyone on the Lakers focuses on passing the ball... to him, lol.

Well, the reality is if they pass the ball to him they have a lot better chance of winning.

Worked out well last year right?    ::)

If they give the ball to Nash and utitlize their bigs they have the best chance of winning, with Kobe then picking his spots.

The Lakers greatest strength is their two seven footers.

It'd better be...Because their two 7 footers will be the only people standing between los Nash's man and a layup pretty much every defensive sequence.

Hopefully they'll have enough left to be that much of a strength offensively.

I don't think I understand the logic of getting Nash and then putting him in an offense different from the one he's prospered in with Phoenix, especially at his age.  Nash was a very good point guard in Dallas but he didn't become one of the best in the league until he got in D'Antoni's system.  Taking him out of it now seems a remarkably foolish thing to do.

Is Kobe Bryant physically capable of movement without a basketball in his hands?

I have never seen him do such a thing.
