I don't think I understand the logic of getting Nash and then putting him in an offense different from the one he's prospered in with Phoenix, especially at his age.  Nash was a very good point guard in Dallas but he didn't become one of the best in the league until he got in D'Antoni's system.  Taking him out of it now seems a remarkably foolish thing to do.
Mike

The Lakers, with a defensive-oriented coach on the hotseat, obtaining los Nash....Is a remarkably foolish thing to do....Regardless of the offense they're running.

Nash has never been a good defender, but come on, now, he's the point guard.  It's not exactly the biggest difference making position from a defensive stand point.

Truth be told, I don't think Nash will hurt their defense all that much more than Ramon Sessions or Derek Fisher.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas

All five players in the offense—including the center—should be competent at making a three point attempt, further spreading the floor. -Just read this part from wikipedia. Bynum would be happy for that...LOL!!!

i don't subject myself to watching much of the lakers, but if there is ever a year where that big-man tandem doesn't bring home a championship, the coach needs to be fired.  i don't care if said coach has 40 championships, there is no excuse.

It'll be more interesting to see what defense they run since they'll essentially be playing their 4 against the other team's 5 whenever los Nash is on the court.

It'll also be interesting to see how long it takes for a meltdown from los Nash's complete disregard for defense.
They dealt with Derek Fisher and Ramon Sessions they can deal with Nash.

Nash helps them improve offensively, and they stay the same defensively. I don't think that's a good thing though. They're still in the Western conference and will need to get past some teams with great point guards; they need a defensive minded guard that can slow down the likes of CP3, Westbrook and Parker. The Nash acquisition will make them better overall next year, but not enough to come out of the West in my opinion.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I can't claim to know the Princeton Offense too well but since it calls for a lot of the action to be initiated from the high post, I can't imagine Nash is going to enjoy the same amount of touches he's used to.  He's more than versatile enough offensively to fit into any offensive system but why would they institute a system that doesn't feature Nash's strength?  Personally I'm happy for their move.  Great job getting a point guard whose teams have finished top 10 in offense nearly every season of his career and then switching to a non-point guard dominant system.

Watching Kobe in the Olympics, it doesn't matter who his teammates are, he's going to take difficult shots.  He loves the long fadeaways, the triple pumpfakes, the three-pointers after staring down his man from aeons.  That's part of who he is and even though Nash will get his more open spot up looks, I have no doubt Kobe will still act like Kobe and take ridiculously tough shots that he'll miss more than make.

I think Kobe's slowed down.  He doesn't look explosive or quick at all.  If he tries to do all the high degree of difficulty stuff, he's going to really struggle next season.

Fisher at least pretended and hustled a little defensively and Sessions wasn't bad at all.

The most aggressive thing los Nash does on the defensive end is brush his hair out of his face. Actually, that's pretty much the only thing he does defensively.
No he actually slicks it with spit behind his ears rofl

Bynum and Gasol playing with no heart in the playoffs was in no way Mike Browns fault.

True....But Davis got the blame for it.  He'll get the blame for what will be this trainwreck.

Defensive oriented coach with two stellar defenders and two capable defenders will melt down with los Nash's disregard for defense when they go on a losing streak.

I'm torn as to whether this could actually work.

on one hand, Kobe's not a college guy and he's pretty selfish.

on the other hand, part of that offense is a 'backdoor cut' and just the 'backdoor' name alone will catch Kobe's attention   ;)
