There's a good chance that Danny's still working out the cap ramifications of giving Green as much money up front as possible while retaining the capability of using the BAE now or in the future.  If that's the case, then the contract may not be settled for some time until danny determines that there's no one worth spending the money on now. Green and his agent wouldn't care since the contract's value (adjusted for the time value of money) will end up being the same (he gets either more money up front or more money down the road).

I noticed on his twitter he's been doing intense workouts pretty much every day. His heart conditions can't be too bad if he's working out and running up and down the stairs.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Could it be both? An injury concern AND a contract holdup? Like the C's want an Opt-Out? We had something similar with the John Lackey signing.

I think Green is gonna come out next season with a good sized chip on his shoulder and the urge to prove to not only this fanbase but also the rest of the league that he shouldn't be slept on. He was an up and coming star in this league in many peoples eyes.

I foresee a career altering year for this kid. He's gonna have a full training camp under his belt. He knows his order in the pack, so he won't need to learn the social intricacies of this obviously very tight knit team again. Which is what i saw affecting his play the most that one half a season here in Boston. He's gonna know Rondo and where to get to certain spots now. I see some downright dirty highlights from these two this year. Can't wait.

Jeff Green's breakout year, KG and PP's renaissance, Lee's (finals) redemption, Bradley and Sullinger's emergence, Rondo's dominance and Terry's 2nd Larry OBrien tat... I feel another storybook championship season coming!  ;D

To me green has become a forgotten player.  I feel he has what it takes to be considered above deng, Andre, granger but below the pierce, Carmelo, lebrons.  Very excited for his return
