Exactly. Until anyone tells us otherwise, there is no reason to believe that he isn't as healthy as any other player on the team. It is a lot more reasonable to believe that it's right when they say, that there are issues with the new CBA regarding the wording of the contract.

Im with the majority on the topic and think that we must be owrking our some sort of injury clause or insurance language. I couldnt see how green would possibly think he could get a fully guaranteed contract when he just had heart surgery. my guess is insurance, injury clauses, and possibly performance bonuses based on health.

Here's the real reason why Jeff Green hasn't been signed yet

Hey folks, hope everyone is doing ok... As some of you may remember I knew Ray Allen wasn't going to sign with the Celtics and gave out results several days before his decision. A friend of mine who is very close to Tyronne Lue does have LEGIT info on couple of things and especially regarding Jeff Green situation. Apparently, Jeff Greens heart is still somewhat at red light. Even though Doctors did approve full court play, after several tests it showed he had elevated levels of palpitations. This is not serious but Danny Ainge does not want to sign him and give him decent contract or sign him at all until he is %100 sure that Jeff is fully healthy. He has seen 7 different cardiologists and heard different opinions...but things DO NOT look good with Jeff Green as of right now... He hasn't worked out AT ALL this entire summer.

This is LEGIT trust me.

If I had a nickel for every time someone on RealGM claimed to have a "source" while blatantly lying...  I'd have a lot of nickels. ;)

worst case scenario ?

We will use Sullinger as the primary back-up of Pierce?

With Quisy or Sasha coming back?

Can we use Dionte Christmas as a SF?

What do we do? Sign Pietrus and start looking for some big trade midseason?

I hope this all works itself out.

Sully can play PF or C.
Christmas can play PG or SG.
We traded Sasha.

So no for those three.

I'd rather have Pietrus back over Marquis.

"Elevated level of palpitations". This one made me chuckle. Up there with the deli guy. Oh, and my grandma could have told you Ray Allen was not signing with us.

So this is "not serious", but things "do not look good"?! KROTOR much?

David Falk says that Green is working out and playing 5-on-5.  I'd like to see somebody more neutral than his agent saying that, but it directly contradicts this "source" (i.e., the guy on Real GM with 9 posts.)

This actually does make a ton of sense.  This was always what I thought the issue would be for any team signing Green to a longterm deal.  Getting him cleared to play is one thing...getting an insurance company to insure his heart is quite another.

My guess is that the insurance company will not insure his heart, and so, as Roy suggested, they are working out language in the contract that removes liability from the team, if his heart does cause more issues.

So, either he has been working out, or he is a liar.  Personally, I prefer to think the anonymous person on RealGM is the liar.

The LAST thing this franchise needs is another Len Bias on its hands. If Green is not 99.999% healthy, the guy should NOT be playing basketball, plain and simple. And that goes for Wilcox too.
Offense sells tickets, Defense wins games, Rebounds win championships.
